Merkel Heads to China to Keep Alive ‘Golden Decade’ of Deals

But what Putin did will hurt Russia in the end,if Crimea has the right to hold a referendum, then what about Chechnya?Ok,Russia is still strong, but they have a strongman system, the strength of country only depends on one leader. What about the post-Putin Russia?Putin can not in power forever. If Russia become in chaos again, then you can see what will happen to places like Chechnya.

In post-Putin Russia, the leader will be chosen by the Russian people. They are a democracy after all.

In reality,Russia now is a fake democracy,Putin and his oligarchs control this country, but what I point out is:Putin opened the Pandora,in modern world, use force to change the border is forbidden,he annex the Crimea in the name of referendum,in the future, one can do the same to Chechnya and other minority state.Because after all,it's the Russians themselves support this kind of games

.
China will never support this kind of referendums, until the Serbs accept the independence of Kosovo,we will not recognize the Kosov as an independent state.Same as South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
And in history, when Indians created Bangladesh,we didn't recognize the Bangladesh, until Ali Bhutto request us to recognize them.Even the Pakistanis recognize them, how can we do?We have no other option,so we recognize the independence of Bnagladesh.

Indeed. The use of this so called referendum can also be implemented for Taiwan and Taiwanese , many of whom do not want union with the PRC. This is the very reason why China did not side with Russia in the debacle relating to Crimea's vote of referendum.

Right。

Then China will have THE excuse to make Taiwan the 2nd Crimea。:enjoy:

There is a HUGE dichotomy between Taiwan and the Crimea. One, Crimea was a poor island and largely wanted union with Russia.

Taiwan on the other hand is a very capable country , with the capability to defend itself against the PRC. And, largely by the fact that Taiwan and Taiwanese do not want to be part of the PRC, but remain an independent and democratic nation.

If the PRC really was capable of reclaiming Taiwan, they would have done it already by now.

:-)

Chechnya is run by Islamic terrorists and Russia fully controls Crimea so keep crying.
A strong Russia is highly desirable.

We can, but it is not the rightful moment for now.

BTW, Taiwan is our territory, it is none of your business.

 Taiwan has nothing to stop a military blitz by the PLA, NOTHING. They have zero capability to counter the MASSIVE missile arsenal of the PLA. No one in Asia has the capability to counter the PLA, and that includes Japan. US will never ever get into war with China on behalf of others, that's a no brainer. Even if they did get involved they no longer have the ability to defeat the PLA. Heck, even the 1950 PLA humiliated the Yanks in the Korean War. So nah, PLA has Taiwan totally covered. This is the reason we are now concentrating on other parts of Asia.

Taiwan provides the mainland with investment and technology so no need to destroy them. Our main priority is SCS and ECS.

.
Of course you cannot. The very reason lies in the fact that:

1) Taiwan has military capability to repel an invasion
2) United States Pacific Command
3) Japan Self Defense Forces

PS. Japanese Collective Self Defense also covers Taiwan. So , we will be involved in the matter of Taiwan. The right to Taiwan's existence is a strategic core concern for Japan.

:-)

Of course we can.

1) Taiwan has nothing to counter the PLA.
2) US cannot counter the PLA missiles, anti-sats, cyber, electronic, etc
3) Jap military is outdated and technologically inferior and numerically outclassed in every way.

Asia is slowly coming under Han Chinese rule. No one can stop us from changing the status quo. The more time goes by, the more advantage shift to China.

If KMT was capable, those people wouldn't have been driven out of mainland by the Communists in the first place
And for the record PRC was planning an invasion before the Korean War broke out. Still it's never too late for Taiwan to accept a peaceful unification option while the beast of the east is becoming stronger by the day :yay:

Hahahaha, you speak like a Russian, not Chinese, you better to change your flag to Russia

My friend,

Nah.

I'm a huge fan of Russia because they hate the Yanks, hate Islamic terrorists and hate the Japs.

We have very similar views regarding these 3.
