There is a separate religion independent marriage act as well. Anyway, if Sikhs want a marriage act exclusively for themselves, then they should start asking for it. Why want of marrying under Sikhism rules makes Sikhs demand a separate nation?

And regarding, Sajjan Kumar and Tytler, not sure if it's falling under 'inciting violence', imo enough is enough, Sikhs should follow Sahid Udham Singh for this issue.

Sikhs have been demanding a separate sikh marriage act for years and years. It just its not much in media.
Anyhow recently in may there were steps for nod but still not sure if it would come in place.

I think the main issue is the naming of the act as Hindu Marriage act. I dont know how different the act per se would have to be in legal aspects from the current act. I think the act would just recognize Sikh marriages conducted as per SGPC guidelines. Here's more on the ceremony of Anand Karaj.

They should call it the Dharmic marriage act. That will cover Sikh, Jain, Buddha and Sanatan Dharma.
