Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient and actor Mehwish Hayat wants everyone to clean up their acts before leaving public toilets at the Karachi airport.

Hayat had the ‘misfortune’ of using the women’s bathroom at the Karachi airport and is now concerned about the first impression we are giving to people arriving in Pakistan.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, she said that the toilets were dirty and stinking. She even saw cockroaches crawling about. She asked people to clean up their acts.

Disgusting! Had misfortune to use the ladies room at Khi Airport – dirty and stinking. Even saw cockroaches. Not only is it unhygienic but is this the first impression we want to give to people arriving here? These are the most basic amenities – let’s clean up our act

Load Wedding actor Hayat is not one to shy away from speaking up about issues, particularly those faced by women. She has been quite vocal on her Twitter regarding many issues, from international relations to women’s rights and harassment.

This is how celebrities should shame the officials and people in general. I like the idea of going official through Twitter. There is no denying that the people behave like animals in a jungle. They say that cleanliness is half our faith, but we all know how our people behave. Look at the streets. Look at how the people dump stuff on streets. After Qurbani everyone dumps their crap on streets. This is a national problem. I am not surprised by this behavior.

Of course the government and the concerned authorities ought to provide proper waste disposal facilities as well. Waste management should figure high on government agenda.

Karachi shan't be made a separate province only to be made a battle ground of same ethnicities varying political wings jumping at each other's throats later on . What will come next then? Oh these Bihari/bhayyais/BengalI have been depriving us begali/Behari/bhayyis of our hard earned money? Towns b soobay mangnay lgy gy.


Only solution viable is to make each city of Pakistan a separate administrative unit just like pre 2008 while remaining within the existing province.


yeh sobo ka chy Kahana to kbhi khatam nahi ho GA as the adjoining districts will still cry against discrimination by the centre. So tell me you want to settle scores or are really interested in getting financial and administrative autonomy at your door step ?

I support Pak to have atleast a dozen provinces but what does it has to do with this thread? Unless you think just by making new provinces toilets would automatically be cleaned and people would have much higher sense of awareness all of a sudden.

I find your rants pretty disrespectful against my country men. Karachi is for all like every city of pak is for all and all cities are contributing as much as the could. So plz cit this Karachi is feeding all Pakistan crap. There are three Karachis outside urban sindh in Punjab and kp what if they all decide to pack their bags and head for your Karachi? Now when I say making every city autonomous it won't be that easy for the provincial govt to hold back the money and the power away from the districts if a constitutional amendment is made and flow of power and money gets directly wired from the federal capital.besides there's always an option of taking the grievances to the higher judiciary

Its not public. Public are always same everywhere its authority who make sure thst those who throw garbage etc should be punish. You should see these people go in abroad they wouldnt do like this why?
