Megastructures: 7 Wonders of the Modern World

Well, Canada is one of the most developed countries in the world with a much higher standard of living than China and is basically a country that doesn't need such structures to be built as it's infrastructural (and any other) needs are already met. At the same time Canadian economy is much smaller but so are it's population and potential. Prices and wages are much higher which also makes it much more expensive to build things than in China. Anyway it's impressive to see things being built in such a large scale and quantity.

That's always the feel good excuse. but you don't live there, so you don't know. btw , my fellow white canadian comrade are more vocal than me about this.

It's impossible to change.
Canadian society is a typical "frozen" society without social mobility.
It's not meritocracy-oriented, but charismatic speech and populist short-term policy oriented.
Whoever to be elected, same things happen.

it sucks though. 30 years ago when you mention anything about Canada to Asians, they were all impressed. The CN tower, our highway, roads, lifestyle, etc...now it's all changed. In a sad way my country has gone a bit backward.
