Mig-29 is not comparable to US F-16-18 relax bro. I am not saying it is low-tier or anything just saying it is not up to date. They sell it in large quantity which is good and means they have good market but it is not a relieable hardware. S400 is rumored to be good but not fully tested again to actully see what it truly can. S300 didn't impress me alot to be honest

Nobody denies Russia is still a big military power even though nothing close to their Soviet days. I think the point others were trying to make is that, Russia is still relying on the vast investments and spill over of the Soviet Union to sustain their industry and keep up. We will have to wait and see if these coming decades Russia can ride up to the challenge to keep up. From 2030 upwards it will be good to see how they will reform their industries and come up with new weapon systems that are not just old Soviet era designs and platforms .

I am not sure about anyone overrating mig-29s and haven't seen anyone doing that tbh. Honestly anyone who wants advancement should stay away from purchasing to many russian goods rather develope domestic and buy of what is useful from them not everything

we are not try to buy everything from them but considering options, which country have the best tech (China/Russia) because we have only 2 option right now either buy from Russia or China, western countries military hardware either super expensive for Pakistan or not available for Pakistan

Pakistan should aspire to bring that furth. There is new ideas and invention yet to be made that the world has not seen this is what Pakistan should strive for

we already on that bro but its a long and difficult travel we have little to no experience for development and designing a fighter jetsbut we need a state of the art fighter jet to replace our old inventories a soon as possible

A lot of military experts do not get to examine the MiG-29 to make that comparison. There is a lot of posturing for money. If you tell your Congressmen that MiG-29 is no match for F/A-18. who is going to give you money ?

The MiG-29 is a pretty good combat aircraft. Some of the subsystems including avionics are behind Western aircraft. The F-16 has been upgraded from Block 15 to Block 50 to higher Blocks. Russian engine and semiconductor technology is behind Western counterparts.

The main issue is that Russia is going to undergo a significant economic and demographic decline ... it is already a former shadow of its current self and will degrade even further. All military development needs to be funded and the cash pile will significantly shrink for Russia in the coming decades. People always forget that money is the basis for everything, including and especially warfare.

Please calm down with yourself here. You are in a forum and as such you should anticipate a wide array of responses, a lot of which you may disagree here. No one here or anywhere has ever said the Russian armed forces are not a threat to the US .... I'm not sure where you heard this but I have never seen such a statement before. Now Russia is no longer the same magnitude of threat posed during the Cold War but is still nonetheless one of the two great military dangers facing the US (the other being China). Regarding what you say about specific Russian weaponry, you should probably qualify these statements as they are quite provocative.

Luftwaffe certainly believed that MiG-29 had very limited useability.
The main advantage it had was the helmet mounted sight, but with this adopted for Western aircraft this is now questionable.
Since the F-16V is available as an upgrade kit and it has been ordered by several countries including Greece and Taiwan, your comment lacks importance.

Obviously, if it is made nations of NATO will not want it to sell. To reduce sales NATO nations will disparage the jet this is best done with backhanded compliments or the complimenting minor features that have been surpassed.
