Meerut, Nov 16: In July 2014, a huge controversy had erupted over "Love Jihad" case in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The alleged case involving the same girl is in the media limelight again.
As per a report published in TOI, the 22-year-old Hindu woman, who was teaching at a madarsa, has chosen to live with her Muslim lover, a year after she lived at a nari niketan.
On Saturday, Nov 14, she left for the home of her lover. Two months after the controversy came to light, the woman had taken a U-turn, due to the pressure mounted upon her by her family members and some local BJP leaders.

On Oct 15 this year, the woman was presented before Allahabad High Court, where she expressed her willingness to live with Kaleem, her boyfriend.
While hearing her plea, the court said that, "as an adult, she has the freedom to chose, with whom she wants to spend her life."

Last year, initially, it was reported that the girl was gangraped in the madarsa and many girls were held captive there for forced conversions.
The girl later revealed that her own family members had forced her to make such allegations, as they did not like the fact that she was in a relationship with a Muslim man.
"A cash of Rupees 25,000 was offered to my family by BJP functionary Vineet Agarwal", she had said, giving the case a sensational twist.
She had also confessed that she eloped with her boyfriend, on her own will. It was also reported that she was pregnant, when the controversy began.

"Hindu outfits helped us with money because our financial condition was weak. This matter should not be politicised", the girl's father had claimed.
Reacting to the revelations, Agarwal had said, "When the case came to light, I went to the girl's house. Because her family was poor, I helped them monetarily on humanitarian grounds. My help should not be linked with politics. Had she been of any other religion, I would have helped just the same."
As the case turned into a heated debate among politicians, ten persons were jailed for the alleged involvement in the sensitive matter, but all of them were later released on bail.
Meanwhile, the firebrand BJP leader Yogi Adityanath refused to comment on the issue.
