'Love jihad' controversy exposed: Victim decides to live with Muslim lover
Posted by: Preeti Panwar | Mon, Nov 16, 2015, 17:47 [IST]
Meerut, Nov 16: In July 2014, a huge controversy had erupted over "Love Jihad" case in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The alleged case involving the same girl is in the media limelight again.
As per a report published in TOI, the 22-year-old Hindu woman, who was teaching at a madarsa, has chosen to live with her Muslim lover, a year after she lived at a nari niketan.

On Saturday, Nov 14, she left for the home of her lover. Two months after the controversy came to light, the woman had taken a U-turn, due to the pressure mounted upon her by her family members and some local BJP leaders.

On Oct 15 this year, the woman was presented before Allahabad High Court, where she expressed her willingness to live with Kaleem, her boyfriend.
While hearing her plea, the court said that, "as an adult, she has the freedom to chose, with whom she wants to spend her life."

Last year, initially, it was reported that the girl was gangraped in the madarsa and many girls were held captive there for forced conversions.
The girl later revealed that her own family members had forced her to make such allegations, as they did not like the fact that she was in a relationship with a Muslim man.
"A cash of Rupees 25,000 was offered to my family by BJP functionary Vineet Agarwal", she had said, giving the case a sensational twist.
She had also confessed that she eloped with her boyfriend, on her own will. It was also reported that she was pregnant, when the controversy began.

"Hindu outfits helped us with money because our financial condition was weak. This matter should not be politicised", the girl's father had claimed.
Reacting to the revelations, Agarwal had said, "When the case came to light, I went to the girl's house. Because her family was poor, I helped them monetarily on humanitarian grounds. My help should not be linked with politics. Had she been of any other religion, I would have helped just the same."
As the case turned into a heated debate among politicians, ten persons were jailed for the alleged involvement in the sensitive matter, but all of them were later released on bail.
Meanwhile, the firebrand BJP leader Yogi Adityanath refused to comment on the issue.

bravo to the lady who has defied her cruel parents and sanghi terrorists to be with the man she loves.

"love jihad" doesn't exist ( love jihad in india - reality exposed by operation juliet ).

and @SarthakGanguly is still to prove to me that operation juliet was a mockumentary or some newspaper got fined for publishing it.

@The_Showstopper , the meerut case comes full circle.

why is that terrorist not in jail??

I remember hindutva members crying in that thread... How all Indian rapists are Muslims n whatnot ..:(

No one is different from each other.... You defend your religion, they defend the faith which they believe so am I... it is not wrong.. absolutely fine but problem arises only with ultras who try hard to blame others for nothing.. be it Muslim Christian or Hindus.... and try to infuse their own ideologies on others... force others follow or decide what others should eat, what shouldn't....

The most inter-religious marriage are true love for every one of these marriages there are 999 potential marraiges that do not take place due to societal pressure.

Funnily enough it would be the death sentence in many muslim countries if a muslim woman married out of her faith.

Even extremist mullahs and the maulvi would burst multiple blood vessels if a sunni woman under their mosque's prerogative was to marry a non muslim in India.

Practice what you preach first.

Why the hell are they calling her a victim? She loves a man and wants to live with him how does this make her a victim?

People should be allowed to live with whomever they love, irrespective of religion, color or sexuality. As long as there will be fringe element opposing that notion, there will never be a true democracy.

RSS and Sang is behaving typically what KKK did in US in the early nineteenth century.

I defend my faith in rightful issues .. Do you see me bitching about other religions ? Do you see me talking shyt about followers of other faiths? Do you see me justifying violence or encouraging it?

The most inter-religious marriage are true love

indeed, especially in south asia... staying together despite the attitudes in our region.

for every one of these marriages there are 999 potential marraiges that do not take place due to societal pressure.

true.

this bunch...

Love Commandos

...is doing fantastic and brave service in protecting and uniting lovers.

but it is not just societal oppression that creates problems... many times in india the police help the oppressors... i quote from the group's wiki...
2014, a girl, whose father was a liquor baron in Agra, eloped with a man and sought shelter with the Love Commandos in nearby New Delhi. The girl's father used his influence to ask Agra police to search for the girl. Agra police allegedly managed to find the girl's location in a suburban area in New Delhi by using her cellphone signal. They began combing area while being armed. Delhi police had to intervene and stop the search.

and this is the necessity in south asia... in india, the "uniform civil code" should be implemented at the earliest and should contain clauses to facilitate ( and encourage ) inter-religion marriage.

or sexuality.

i would never support a male marrying another male.

you quoting saudia or post-ussr "democratized" afghanistan or brunei would be like me quoting india for many things.

mullahs in india are prominent mostly since 1989 and especially in the last 15 years... before that, beard, burqa and mosque obsession was rarely seen and mullahs had lot less influence, though it was certainly present ( this being india, birth place of the deoband movement ).

in decades past, quite a few muslim ladies ( and sunni, since you mention it ) married hindu men... one example is the actress nargis, who married sunil dutt in 1958... however, the actress suraiya couldn't marry dev anand because of her grandmother's opposition.

read about this female politician ( Rukhsana Sultana - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ).

and a senior congress party leader, dinesh gundu rao ( a hindu man ), married the lovely tabu in 1994... they had some initial hiccups but it has turned out fine.

like i said, india in the last 15 years has seen more prominence of anti-human reactionary forces in all communities and one of their victims will be love couples, irrespective of whether the two are of the same religion or differing.

I defend my faith in rightful issues .. Do you see me bitching about other religions ? Do you see me talking shyt about followers of other faiths? Do you see me justifying violence or encouraging it?

you still don't get my point.. not everyone support violence... it just few people makes that noise causing damage to others...

I completely agree with you... but we are not living in random country... so we care about our country... it is better to not take them as example..
