Bro, we would REALLY appreciate if the Chinese govt clamp down hard on "wet markets" after this, and completely bans eating of wild animals like bats, snakes, rats, foxes, raw pork brain etc etc. It is disgusting, dirty, savage, and backward. Bats are known to carry the most lethal pathogens for humans. And Chinese eat bat soup?!?!

It puts literally entire world in danger because every now and then, there is a new pandemic coming out of China. SARs killed hundreds of people, effected thousands....and now this. All because of same reason: Chinese backward and unhygienic practices of eating.

Completely agreed. Even though the majority of Chinese people do not eat strange meats contrary to stereotypes, the minority who does are disgusting and they are endangering public health.

I honestly cannot understand people who go out of their way to eat strange animals. It is completely disgusting. I honestly wish these people would just fucking die. If China doesn't clamp down on the wildlife trade and ban the consumption of strange meats, then they really deserve the next major pandemic coming.

In the north we don't eat wild animals and stranger food, Beijing's SARS came from Guangdong province, that's after 17 years Beijingers still hate Guangdong diet saying them eat everying with four legs except chairs.
The government should crack down this disgusting diet mainly from Guangdong and Guangxi provinces.

MERS' orgin was not even confirmed fully. It was speculated that camels 'helped' spread it to human but exact source was not even found. Compare that to the disgusting, filthy, and savage 'wet markets' with bats, snakes, rats, insects, and what not. There is NO comparison.

These are major threat to the world civilization, and to Chinese people even more so! Most of the deaths in SARS happened in China. Even now this virus has killed 17 Chinese people and many more are effected. You lot have some of the largest and most conjested population centers on Earth. A dangerous virus can spread and literally kill millions of Chinese, if it becomes a pandemic (which is quite easy to do for special pathogens from wild animals, mind you).

My family roots came from the North and I honestly never really liked Cantonese culture. Their behavior, their looks, the nasty things they eat, their language, their un-manly culture, it's all too different from the North.

Guangdong/Guangxi are more related to Southeast Asia in many ways than to the original Chinese civilization which came from the North.



That's not enough. It should be banned completely. Also wildlife traders should be caught and executed.

Actually, their spoken language is closer to the original Chinese language than the current dialect used in the north, in which the northern nomadic tribes had more influence.
