India says blast case solved - METimes.com
NEW DELHI, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Indian intelligence and security agencies say they have solved the Mecca mosque blast case in the southern city of Hyderabad.

An Interior Ministry official said the chain of events that led to the May 18 blasts began with Lashkar-e-Toiba operative Sheik Abdul Nayeem, alias Sameer, smuggling 15 kilograms of RDX from Bangladesh. Before he was caught on the India-Bangladesh border in April, he smuggled in two Bangladeshi and two Pakistani mercenaries, a spokesman for Hyderabad police said.

The RDX was then sent to Hyderabad, along with other explosives, he said.

"About eight to 10 bombs were assembled at the residence of one Imran Khan, a blast accused, in the city. We have his video-graphed confession," the police said.

State police said two bombs were used in the Mecca Masjid blasts and two in blasts that targeted a Sufi shrine in the northern city of Ajmer.

"There are four or five bombs still hidden somewhere along with the unspent RDX," a senior police officer said.

Three men planted the bombs in the Mecca Masjid, Indian officials said. One of them, a native of Hyderabad, was arrested; two others -- identified as Bangladeshis -- crossed the border after the blast, the spokesman said.

good work if it really happened.but I am still waiting for the evidence and the trial.forgive me for the skepticism but Indian authorities don't have a good track record for honesty.
still good news if these people were really behind the blasts.

.
That will be produced during the trial. Its for the courts to decide whether it is enough and admissible.

the courts & lawyers are under attack man.just look what happened in u.p.

& witnesses are either being bought or murdered.

under such circumstances chances of conviction are slim.

trust me ,these guys will walk away scot free & claim they are exonerated & that they were falsely implicated & harrased by indian officials:devil:

It is interesting that the so called Pakistani mercenaries travelled from here to Bangladesh to be smugled inside India. Could they not have come in through Wagah Border legally or through Kashmir illegally. Man what a sensational story!!! Conveniently the main culprit has now crossed over into Bangladesh__so no proof. Right!!! And by the way dont Pakistani mercenaries have enough jobs on their hand causing chaos in Pakistan that they would go out of the country to indulge in their favourite past time. The last time I checked mercenaries were not on the exporting list of Pakistan.

Smuggling through Wagah needs something called a passport, you know. Its a small book with your photo inside?
Also to come through kashmir, one would have to circumvent the entire intelligence-cum army apparatus to reach even srinagar.

Man, think before you type. Seriously.

Wrong.

Who is talking about mercenaries?

Anyways, the right word is terrorists. And yes, terrorists are on the exporting list...

Wrong.

What drama man. The only argument I see here from India is "I know it in my guts!".

I will only say this once. You being a senior member should know the norms of communication Not every one here is just out of school!! So kindly keep your sarky remarks to yourself!
If you have read my previous posts they tend to be balanced as at my age you see the light and start seeing things above nationalistic borders.
Regarding your first point, my post clearly indicates legally ie through the border.Try identifying one man in thousands that cross through and stick the crime on him legally.-you will realize the difficulties in proving this yourself.
Secondly The Indian media is abuzz with infiltration from across the Kashmir Border. If they are to be believed then the intelligence-cum army apparatus is not working efficiently enough.
I only used the word merceneries in answer to the report. If you dont believe me read for yourself.
If you can get the gist of my response, you will know that we BOTH are too quick to blame each other for all the ills in our society. It is time that educated people start looking through this trend and think of a bigger picture where there is harmony and peace amongst us and the emphasis is on improving the plight of our people rather than spilling mud over each other.
If you analyze the report from a totally neutral view point --- Think of yourself as a lawyer out to prove this case, please spend some time on the excercise and try to critique the piece of News and then respond I would really be obliged.

What are the ingredients and process of making RDX? (I'd google it - but I'm pretty sure that with my name, religion and ethnicity, I'm going to set off red flags) Are they only available in Pakistan and Bangladesh? Since people are being smuggled in left and right (Indians being genetically programmed to be saints and above temptations of any vices) to "commit terrorism", why have "bomb makers" not been smuggled in?

This all beggars belief. It seems more of a PR exercise to present "shining India" as devoid of any ills, except those from abroad.

Look, thats how it happened, now if you want to question it, then come to the court and hear the proceedings.

A police investigation is not a PR exercise. One of the people involved was a native of hyderabad, so there goes your "shining India" theory.

Hey sorry bout that....just that I found the post a little absurd.

If you have read my previous posts they tend to be balanced as at my age you see the light and start seeing things above nationalistic borders.

See, according to me, it is much easier to catch someone who has crossed the border legally because its easier to track his movements.
This is the very reason why terrorists cross through Bangladesh. Its a porus border with little control on who gets in and out. Thats a fact, and exactly the reason why India is building a concrete wall along the border with this country.

Also, most terrorists that cross into kashmir either attack Srinagar or get caught before they can do any damage. It is very difficult for them to leave the state because the movement of people is monitored.

There is a difference between politicians pointing the finger at Pakistan and the police actually solving the case.
I'm sure the latter is to be believed.

Also, no one is blaming Pakistan for sponsoring terror any more. If anything, these guys are out of control even in Pakistan, so I don't see how this will affect the peace process.

If you analyze the report from a totally neutral view point --- Think of yourself as a lawyer out to prove this case, please spend some time on the excercise and try to critique the piece of News and then respond I would really be obliged.

Did you find anything wrong or impossible about the story? if you did, please tell.

Why wouldn't it come out in the press?

You are just ducking out of this fight you started. You are using words like SOLVED, accusing all of us as being terror supporters and now that you are falling short of providing some evidence you are making ridiculous demands like "Oh you can come to India".

Till this day not a single shred of evidence has been provided by your **** agencies who whenever they can't resolve a case would shout out "Pakistan did it". Heck it takes several weeks to start naming suspects yours come out the next day or sometimes in the next hour.

Why wouldn't it come out in the press?.

It might....we can always wait and watch.

Jeez...the evidence will be produced in court. This isn't a fake trial you know.

You are just ducking out of this fight you started. You are using words like SOLVED, .

Not me, the police says its solved.

.
accusing all of us as being terror supporters

Did I? I don't remember doing anything of the sort.

An Indian is involved as well, so are two Bangladeshis. Its a multinational effort :D

I don't remember shouting "Pakistan did it" either.

IT doesn't. Intelligence gathering happens within the first few hours of the blast usually, because the trail is hot and people are talking.

Also, this blast happened several weeks ago. I don't see how these suspects were named in the "next hour".
