Forget rivals, they do this to innocent people. There's thousands of videos of them shooting people for fun, beheading someone who disrespected them, picking up teenage girls walking home and gang raping and so on. They are evil personified.

Mexico has gotten quite a bit better in recent years. IIRC, 2010 was the absolute worst year for the drug related violence, with a many of the killings happening very close to the Texas border. But ever since then, it looks like the crime rate has improved quite substantially.

Mexico is def safer than Iraq. Mexico's crime rate is lower than those of its southern neighbors such as Guatemala and Honduras ... it just gets a bad rap because its a big country.

I have met and interacted with quite a few Mexicans and they are lovely people and get along fine with Pakistanis. They are also very hospitable. Thing with Mexicans is that they are lovely, civil and friendly with foreigners but they are exceptionally cruel and vicious with one another. The way Mexicans talk to and treat their own women is not nice either.
