A bunch of friends chipped in and we watched at my place over some fine beer and pizza. I think in some ways, the hype ended up being worth more $$$ then the actual fight.

Its everywhere, all are on about this fight. Tickets went for upto $160000 and within 30 seconds of being put online.

Mayweather was expected to win anyway.
My FB feed was filled with statuses from this fight, mostly from those people whose only daily workout is going to the fridge to microwave a Pizza slice.

This is nothing.

Tiger woods had a 5 year endorsement from Nike....for 105 Million USD. That's for just using their equipment and from one single company.

It took Mayweather 20 years of getting punched in the face and losing his mind, to make 400 million USD.
Tiger did that in 5 years.

The key is, pro athletes are celebrities and more so in the internet age. So their worth goes up in the public. Muhammad Ali never made that kind of money, even though he was the King of Boxing.
