Solution is for Italy to pipe down in public. Make zero noise in public, offer no criticism in public & keep all discussions on this matter private. The matter will be resolved away from public glare. Italy made a mistake in not announcing that the men had messed up badly and that action would be taken against them. The matter then would have been allowed to die a natural death. Supporting an action that resulted in the kiling of two Indian fishermen in broad daylight without reason was not going to play well in India. Ever. Italy should have recognised that India was the hurt party here & been conciliatory. At all times, even when things were not going according to plan. Upping the ante with a country the size of India was always going to be problematic. Unfortunately Italy is still going down that route. What Italy does not want to do with its actions is to highlight the matter in public. Grandstanding will not work.

No it's pretty common. Especially politicians get really heavy garlands. All flowery and heavy. By that measure Modi is actually quite muted. Wearing even heavy garlands is relatively uncommon for him. In some states politicians would sometimes get garlanded with currency notes, ;literally 'lakhon ka haar'. Don't think I see that too much nowadays but nevertheless it should still be going on in smaller scale in some rural places I guess

There is a good way to handle any cases .This case was happened in 2012.But around one year ago of that incident ,a Chinese ship also did same mistake . They didnt shoot but due to captain's misjudgement and misunderstanding the ship collided with a small fishermen trawler and one Indian fishermen died.After that ships authorities covered up all those issues by apologozing to victims family directly and gave a hefty ransom that is still undisclosed.And this was a Chinese Ship and you know China and its capability .But their authorities in there didnt even dare to challenge for their mistake.They knew upping the ante against the India will cause issues.

But thanks to your retarded govt .They boasted about their rights publicly .We knew their disease ,the superiority complex of an European Nation.That was the motivation of your govt yo justify the heinous act of marines.
