Kolkata: An army jawan was killed, while three others were seriously injured, in a powerful IED blast carried out by militants at Lokchao in Tengnoupal district of Manipur. The incident took place close to the international border near Myanmar.

The blast took place at around 5.50 am on Monday morning, injuring the army men, who were travelling in a vehicle in along NH-102 near Moreh in Manipur. The area is located 23 km from the Indo-Myanmar border.

The condition of two of the injured was serious and an IAF helicopter was pressed into action to airlift the injured to the Army Hospital at Leimakhong, sources said.

Reportedly, the army vehicle of the 165th Territorial Army on a Road Opening Party patrol was passing through Lokchao village, which falls along the Asian Highway (AH) No-1, the police said.

The injured army men were identified as Arjun, Naik Vaseso, Subedar Michandra and Sepoy Govind, police sources said.

A massive combing operations is on by joint security forces including the Army, Assam Rifles and Manipur police in order to nab the militants inside jungle and the adjacent areas.

They are literally called maoists , Chinese proxy war in the region is the reason why Nepal & India will never trust china .
