As we do not live in our village, our house was in the same condition as we left it in 1998... minor repairs, nothing else... as MODERN TOILET was not in the house, we found our name in the list of beneficiaries who can take Rs. 12,000 from government to build a Toilet in 2016... We requested our Gram Pradhan to strike off our name from the list and toilet was built within a week...

My village was declared open defection free in 2016... and by 2017, everyone, even the older people have started using them... a lot of requests and a bit of fines...

Modi govt's aim is to make India open defecation free by 2019, and not 2022.

But statistics show that we will hit that target by end of December 2018.
