Malaysian military chiefs praise Pak Army's achievements against terrorism

Malaysian civil and military chiefs have praised Pakistan Army’s achievements against terrorism and efforts for regional peace and stability.
The country’s leadership met army chief General Raheel Sharif as he arrived in Putrajaya city on a two-day visit on Wednesday.
During the meeting, General Raheel said Pakistan and Malaysia had convergence of interests in various domains of regional security and the need to go after terrorism indiscriminately.
In his meeting with the army chief, Malaysian Defence Minister Dato Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein also expressed the desire to expand the range of defence collaboration.
Hishammuddin hoped that the spirit of cooperation will be helpful in strengthening the existing relationship between the military of the two countries and evolve into a longterm strategic partnership.

The COAS also held separate meetings with Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Tan Sri Dato Sri Haji Zulkifeli bin Mohd Zin and Chief of Malaysian Army General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi bin Raja Mohamed Noor.
He was introduced to senior army commanders and was given detailed briefing on the operational and training aspects of the military.
Earlier, a smartly turned out contingent of Malaysian army presented guard of honour to army chief at the army headquarters.
The Terms of Reference were also signed between the military leaders to institutionalise a longterm framework for cooperation.
