IAF follows the govt on execution, not procurement. IAF decides procurement, govt is only a facilitator.

In this case the facilitators demanded the IAF take the jet

Look IAF has tried its best, it dosent want the overpriced lemon

It complains about it never meeting deadlines
It tries to make excuses

All to delay a failure of a project all in the hope that someone will wise up and say Why are we forcing this Tejas lemon on our airforce when they desperately dont want to buy the plane

Impossible for it to happen. They actually tried to do it in the past and failed.

If the facilitators had demanded IAF take the jets, it would have been inducted years ago. Otoh, the LCA surpassed all expectations during Gaganshakti. The ACM said it was their most accurate jet for bombing during the exercise, which means it even beat M-2000 and Jaguar.

Never happened. It was a media creation. Only changes made were to prevent obsolescence. R-73, HMDS and refueller for Mk1. AESA, EW suite, CIT, IMA and SDR for Mk1A. So with the exception of refueller, it's only avionics and weapons.

Who hasn't? Even the USAF has complained about the F-35 delays. It's normal.

Its not about Teja being technologically inferior, its just that its a 40 years old project, whose design itself is based on old Mirage 3/5 which is a design of 1950s era.

Its today the smallest jet out there but with very limited endurance(this is the primary reason for its rejection, and the reasons for IAF only using it for point defence as of now)........

They r trying to overload a design build for the old technologies and for the warfare of old era with the contemporary modern technologies and warfare.

If they instead build a new and proper 4 or 4.5 gen design today, then this day would not have come.

now its more of a matter of national pride and prestige to continue with it.
