Making COIN operations better

Good thing that the early militants in FATA didn't have such well-developed social media; was much more gruesome.

Saw a video of one of our soldiers headless corpse being thrown off the cliff. It was in 2010-2015 era. Back then It was the same. Tin Can convoys and trucks getting ambushed on narrow roads and valleys. IED Attacks and Militants on high ground overwhelming The Pakistani convoys or Attack formations.

Same story is being repeated in Balochistan. FC/Army Tincan pickups and trucks are regularly getting ambushed.

Which shows, The Baloch terrorists are getting a very good intel on FC/ARMY convoy movement. They are better trained and carry complex ambushes.

FC is being used as fodder cannon here.

Don't you think Gunships should had been called there at the time of the attack?

Ofcourse, and if you can think of them, they must have been called there as well. There are gunships already stationed there for such emergencies. Ofcourse they cannot hover all the time, but they do come and try to inflict as much casualties on the retreating terrorists as possible.

Sir what opinion you have for using drones both for surveillance as well as for attack(armed drones) in these situations?

Every FC wing has drones (small ones) for small scale recce and surveillance. Armed drones can always pay rich dividends, but then, in the form of Balochistan, we are dealing with 44% land mass of Pakistan. FATA is a bit small you know.

BRAS etc. sure have a strong social media department. The regular videos increase the impact of these nuisance attacks.
