This is really good move. If Muslims will keep on only concentrating in religion they will never be strong. This is indirect help for their good. Who can see the fortune must welcome this. I hope something similar is followed in BD.

Its illegal period. Unless and until said institution is recognized by some authorized board, its against the law to provide formal education. You are confusing between a school and a tuition. They can go to tuition but it is illegal and can be closed down anytime. These students will not recognized as having received formal education, will be counted as a illiterate.

@Zarvan you continue to amaze me! whats wrong with forcing students for kids to learn math and science? they did not abolish teaching religion.

Also, the report cleverly stresses on Madrassas although the news article clearly states "any school that does not include the states curriculum - math science etc - will be de recognized." this *includes* but is not limited to madrassas that do not include the said curriculum.

which means:
- Madrassas that do teach math, science are conitnued the funding as well as recognition.
- non mandrassas (hindu schools?) that do not teach such are also de recognized.

but the report misleads by saying that all madrassas are banned!

Most media houses are not even reporting the 'following school curriculum' part, most common headlines are like: "BJP ruled state bans madrassas, says they are not schools"!

nope.. where does it say? these are private institutions, you cant close them, they will go to court. besides I can open in my house a madrassa and teach, how the hell you control that.

As a rule - any person claiming to coach a number of students needs to be licensed to teach, also if there are a number of students under his tutelage then the institute needs a recognition, else it can be closed down at any moment. Though some form of informal tuition's and classes do operate.

The de-recognition here means that the madrassa cannot charge nor raise funds in the name of an educational institute / school.

true. but i am surprized at the kind of madrassas in maharashtra that dont teach science and maths. in fact, in up, some sr. madrassa students teach math tutions to boys from govt. schools. something seriously wrong with some madarsas.
