Made in India Vehicles

There is something called brand value. Anyone can make a 16 valve Turbocharged engine and stick them under a hood, but there won't be any takers other than those made for Buggati.

You can always discuss in a civil manner without making a big fuss and flame war.
Sorry. To be hornest, except campaniles like Toyota, VW, etc, I really can't see any better "brand value" than our Chery, BAIC as shown in my previous links, in terms of Auto compamy ranking... Certainly not "Tata" brand with its niglegible sales numbers even in india, which can't even manage to be among the top ten compared to Chinese brands.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_manufacturers_by_motor_vehicle_production (note, Geely's number does not include Volvo sales)

BTW, not just the engine, check carefully about the specs such as the size and wheelbase, and features such as ESP/ESC, cruise control, (panoramic) sunroof, disk breaks, etc etc.... Then you will know what I mean by "only in india"...

The production version of Tata Motors’ H5X SUV has been given the market name, the Harrier. The model is already known internally as ‘Harrier’, which follows the carmaker's trend of codenaming its models after birds before launch. However, this time round, Tata Motors has decided to finalise that as a market name and is expected to make an official announcement sometime next week.

Looks like I made that post about Qute at the right time.

Years after it was launched globally in Russia, Ukraine, Turkey etc, Qute is now confirmed to launch in Keralam and NE states as the legislation now allows it.

There's no doubt that Qute will replace vast number of three wheelers in Keralam as the state is known to use bigger and better three wheelers whenever they become available and also the Tata Iris. The auto rickshaw drivers own their own vehicles unlike say in Mumbai, and are relatively rich enough.

Outside China, these companies have negligible sales.

To be honest, Chinese car sales outside China is usually low. The numbers you sport are from domestic sales. Not from the worldwide sales. And you can see most of these car companies have to copy from western and eastern cars to survive. You even had to copy the shitty M Suzuki 800 (or Mehran as Pakistanis know).

Most upper medium end Indian cars i.e that costs above $10000 provide EPS, Disk Brakes, cruise control and so on.

Hey Ali bhai, any updates on the Tata E-vision? I hate it when they shelve cars after introducing concepts.

I'm not very optimistic. I don't expect e-Vision production version for at least ten years, if. Hopefully we get e-RaceMo before that.

A combustion engine sedan based on the e-Vision concept is possible in five years. It will have a place beside Harrier and future Nexon.

Oh...Come on.... I do not mean EPS (Electric Power Steering) which even the beggar's car should have, I mean ESP/ESC (Electronic Stability Program/Control)... This shows most people in india like you really have no idea what ESP/ESC is....

About exports, sorry, except a total of about 10,000 Mahindra+Tata, all other exports are foreign brands, which have nothing to do with your brand image we are talking about here.... This is indeed miserable, just a tiny tiny fraction (1%) compared to our exports from Chinese brands, which is well above 1 million, and Chery alone exported 100,000...

About your copy shit, it is past tense for our mainstream brands now... While you indians live in the past....

I never claimed Indian car manufacturers are top notch. Your Chinese cars are suitable for the Chinese market with government incentives for local manufacturing and giving no room for competition.
And funny big 16000 cars you export to the entire world is like a drop of water in the ocean.

Also, the cheap copies are no old story. These are the new models released. Whether you make it to the world market or not is a different discussion.

It is not 16000, it is above 1 million... But still, you are right, it is a drop of water in the ocean since we sold 30 million in 2017...

About the copy thing, there are copies for some models, but they are insignificant considering we have sooooooooo many models with original designs, and mainstream auto companies such as Geely, Haval, SAIC, etc. etc. all have original designs. https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/introduction-of-chinese-car-companies.566195/

And about the old Suzuki Alto showed above, you should check the company's history, the Jiannan Alto was a partner of Suzuki since the early 90s, go check this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Alto

A lot of people are nostalgia about this tiny midget model, it has been stopped production long ago, but they try to sell some "limited edition" recently, with EV version...

Yep, given China is the largest car market in the world and the Chinese government favors domestic car companies. I'm talking about the sales outside China. Any known Chinese car companies that have a brand value comparable to at least Hyundai or Suzuki or GM, Jeep.

Now, these companies do not sell any copycat cars back home, (Say Japan or Korea) but Geely, Haval, SAIC do sell copycats in China. So, there is nothing to brag about the things you don't copy because everyone would improvise one way or the other. Anyway, I'm not seeing Chinese cars making a name anytime soon.

It takes time to reach the level of Toyota, GM, VW, etc. But the EV revolution will expedite this process: https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/here...inese-evs-just-make-you-mind-boggling.566564/
