Honda Bangladesh Ltd. Honda Wave Alpha

Wave Alpha is a ‘cub’ bike, very much the design inspired from Honda Cub 50, which is one of the most iconic bike in the world and the mostly sold motorcycle in the whole universe. Wave Alpha is very popular in East Asian countries like Thailand and Vietnam & Honda Bangladesh Private LTD has started manufacture of this motorcycle in Bangladesh.

HONDA Bangladesh (Govt. JV), Suzuki Bangladesh (Rincon Motors) and HERO Motocorp. (Nitol motors) are three newer companies who have joined Runner and Walton in the more than 30% value-addition bracket with larger local factories. The rest of the nine/ten manufacturers are assemblers of CKD kits (mostly Chinese) to a large degree.

RAK Ceramics Factory possesses a range of modern machinery: 5 presses, 5 long range kilns & 12 multipurpose ball mills. In sanitary ware, various models of wash basin (mounted as well as pedestal), water closets (WC) and water tank (WT) accessories and marble shade sets are produced.

Abul Khair Group invests in the sanitaryware sector

The Abul Khair Group, one of the biggest corporate Groups in Bangladesh, has completed the first stage of expansion of its factory based in Dhaka. The new plant, which was designed and supplied by SACMI of Italy,started production in 2014. With this new plant configuration output capacity has now reached 100,000 pieces per month and many new models have been introduced to extend the company's sanitaryware product range for the domestic market.

In detail, the project consists of 3 NIV pressure casting machines for the production of washbasins, columns, squat toilets and tanks. A Gaiotto robotized glazing line has been supplied to ensure improved, stable glaze application for newer, more complex models such as One Piece WCs. The Riedhammer tunnel kiln has a total length of 75 metres and is used to fire items from both the new and traditional casting departments.

Traditional casting output capacity has also been boosted by the AKG team through the installation of locally-produced new casting benches and other plant completion equipment items. Lastly, the Riedhammer shuttle kiln has a capacity of 33 cubic metres.

With regard to the ceramic field, beside the sanitaryware business, the Abul Khair Group is also planning to enter into the floor and wall tile sector.
