Madaya: Syrian regime supporters share food photos to taunt starving civilians trapped in town

A hashtag meaning "solidarity with the siege of Madaya" was being used to support the Syrian army

Supporters of the Syrian regime are sharing photos of their dinners to taunt thousands of starving civilians in a besieged town.

The hashtag #متضامن_مع_حصار_مضايا, meaning “solidarity with the siege of Madaya”, has sparked a new wave of outrage over the continuing crisis, with those using it condemned as “sadistic” and “unbelievably disgusting”.

Photos showed people with sumptuous-looking spreads of food including kebabs, grilled prawns, whole fish, chips, salad and mountains of bread.

The trend emerged on Facebook and Twitter on Friday as President Bashar al-Assad gave into international pressure to allow humanitarian aid to enter for the first time since October.

But it will be too late for at least 23 men, women and children who have already starved to death, while photos show emaciated people resorting to eating leaves and grass in desperate attempts to stay alive.

Madaya, a former holiday resort in mountains near the Lebanese border, has been under siege by the Syrian army and allies from the Lebanese Hezbollah militia for six months.

Around 40,000 people remain trapped and reliant on next week’s shipment of food and medical supplies.

As part of the pact, aid will also be allowed into the nearby town of Zabadani, which is also under siege, and Kefraya and Fua - two villages in Idlib province that have been surrounded by Islamist rebels since March.

The militants, linked to al-Qaeda, have threatened to massacre the dominantly Shia residents held inside.

The European Union welcomed the decision to allow humanitarian access but called it to be extended to other areas, as well as demanding a halt to attack on civilians by all parties in Syria’s ongoing civil war, ahead of UN peace talks later this month.

A spokesperson for the US State Department, John Kirby, said the “regime’s record of broken promises on humanitarian access must stop” and urged Russia to use its influence to ensure the pledge is not a one-off.

Blockades have become a common tactic, with government troops holding rebel-held areas near Damascus under siege for several years and, more recently, rebel groups blockading some territory loyal to Assad, who has the military backing of Iran and Russia.

The war in Syria has killed an estimated quarter of a million people in nearly five years, ravaging the country and creating a breeding ground for Isis and other Islamist groups as dozens of nations back different sides.

. . . . .
My question: Were these civilians allowed to leave the town or not due to the fight? Also, who has kept them there, the regime or the opposition? The blame should be put onto those who have forcefully kept them in that town during fighting.
There is no fighting in Madaya.

.
If that's the case, than what would you wana say about this?

Cheap propaganda by Saudis and their western masters :-)

You want to end the siege of Zabadani and Madaya ?

Ask your terrorists in Idlib and Aleppo to lift the siege of Fu'ah , Kafraya , Nuble and Zahra .

The only reason that the siege has continued in Qalamoun is in order to stop those Takfiri terrorists from killing nearly 50000 Shia civilians in 4 besieged Shia cities .

In fact the government is not interested in keeping hundreds of its forces around 2 small cities but your Ahrar Ash Sham terrorists have forced them to do that .

.
I think they are mocking the ridiculous fake pictures that have come out from this disinformation. There are now many evidence on line that showed a lot of those pictures were fake.

. .
I wish one day I get my hands on Assad supporter so I could torture him and make him beg for his life. These bastards will pay for what they are doing to Sunnis
There are no shias and sunnis in this fight as you would love to believe. FSA has 10% Alawite as its soldiers. Same Alawite sect that Assad himself belongs too.

.
1. Madaya was never under siege for food or civilians getting out. It's 600 terrorists taking the town as hostage, not allowing civilians to leave, taking them as human shields.

2. Food has already entered town again.

3. If few Facebook pages represent 'Assad supporters' then what do thousands of Twitter and Facebook accounts that openly call for death of all Shias, Allaiwtes, non-Sunnis represent? Of course they represent all the ones fighting against Syrian gov.

4. Fu'a and Kafraya, 2 Shia towns that were actually under siege by terrorists, not letting any food in or any civilians out besides launching mortars on a daily basis on them, are the ones which should have taken all the media attention.
Instead Madaya starvation hoax got popular all thanks to a Twitter hashtag. Before the hashtag, no one was starving in Madaya.
Only after terrorists in Zabadani were forced to eat grass, they agreed with a deal to let food and supplies enter Fua'h. That's the only way to make the terrorists who know no morals and values kneel before you: treating them like they act themselves.
Plenty of food has already entered Madaya. But terrorists will seize the food again and continue to imprison civilians in the town.

Cheap saudi propaganda, it's starting to get repetitive and annoying now.

1. Madaya was never under siege for food
After "rebels gas themselves to blame nice Assad", shameless Assad propagandists come with new story: Rebels starve themselves to blame nice Assad.

or civilians getting out.
Translation: Assadists imposed siege to make ethnic cleansing of unwanted population.

2. Food has already entered town again.
Lie. Only after extensive media campaign Assadists allowed aid convoy but it didnt not enter yet. Only a delegation of Red Crescent entered a town so far.

4. Fu'a and Kafraya, 2 Shia towns that were actually under siege by terrorists, not letting any food in or any civilians out besides launching mortars on a daily basis on them, are the ones which should have taken all the media attention.
I already answered it. With over 50 Mi-8 transport helicopters (not including Russian helicopters) Assadists could provide 10 daily meals to everyone there. But they need helicopters for barrel bombs. So basically you are crying that you cant barrel bomb civilians enough.

Today another school was bombed by Iranian aka Assad terrorists.
