LY-80 (HQ-16) medium-range SAM supplied to Pakistan & Bangladesh: Report

You guys know the funny thing here? Bangladesh Navy will be the largest operator of the LY-80.
There are 32 VLS cells for LY-80N on each frigate. So for at least 6 frigates we can expect a total of 192 launchers!
As Anisul Haq stated the government is also purchasing two more frigates so the total by 2030 would be 256 launchers for LY-80 in Bangladesh Navy holding alone.
Right now the Air Force does not have any money left over in its kitty for LY-80E, which costs $180 million per battery. They will wait after the MRCA deals are completed before purchasing the new batteries of MRSAM. The purchase should happen rather fast as all evaluations have been completed so finally all three services would have to go with LY-80 as there are no other alternatives.
I also doubt Bangladesh Army and Air Force would now select alternative systems such as S350 or Pechora 2M if the Bangladesh Navy inks the deal with China for those new frigates. If the deal is inked with South Korea then we can expect the Air Force to buy S350 and Army to buy Pechora 2M (for mass deployment).
