So you want to contaminate the water instead of the air?
Plus it’s damage control, a damage that would be unnecessary if we used hydro power, nuclear or geothermal energy.
lastly it’s the combination of sulphur dioxide and carbon dioxide that makes coal the worst fossil fuel.
Like I said, there are proven technologies for capturing SOx and NOx, plus CO2 emissions through clean coal processes. If you visit a modern coal plant, you would be surprised to notice there are hardly any flue gases or stack emissions.
So why exactly would the water be contaminated? There are large scale CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) projects already operational and many more in the pipelines for GHG emissions reduction or.meeting climate change targets (such as net zero).
So why did you make an informed comment about potable water contamination?
