it still need several years that our top 3 provinces catch up with South Korea .:raise:

You might need to format the table to make it easier to read.

Anyway, YAYY! Guangdong's provincial economy alone is almost $1 trillion by itself. :woot:

Followed closely by Jiangsu and Shandong!

My home province is at the top spot again, although I think Jiangsu will overtake it in a few years.

Maybe so.

I wouldn't mind though, it's a good and healthy form of competition.

mainlander china should be more than 7.8. wenn most of province are far above 7.8
in your list. only beijing and shanghai are less than 7.8

imho Guangdong gov gotta pay more attention to its impoverished mountainous area in the north and underfunded western region. compared with shining Pearl river delta region, these 2 places look like sub-sahara.

Hey guys, dont mean to spoil the party, i just noticed that the growth percentage given for each province when added together and calculated the average value, it would not be the value for a sum, ie China as a whole.

If you look at the numbers, most are above 7, some by quite a large margin, and only one is below 8. No way the middle value of those numbers is 7.8. Unless there are more provinces that didnt make the list due to bad performance.

Thanks for any clarification.

you are brave enough to talk big here with a scanty knowlege.
our central and provincal govts take different statistical methods and the most important is that each province is not an independent econemy so that some of GDP are double counted .so sum of the provinces bigger than the central govt data is normal phenomenon.

A true insight into Chinese economy.

In your view, what different statistical methods and where and how and to what purpose the double counting is done?

GDP regional summary data is much higher than the national GDP growth rate released by the National Bureau of Statistics, the public debate in recent years concentrated hot social issues. The causes of the problem, summary of the theory of the five areas.
First, the independent accounting system of our country GDP grading. Layers of local government in China to manage the economy under the system, will inevitably produce a contradiction between regional and national data does not converge.
Second, there is duplication of statistics. With more and more Chinese enterprises transregional production and operation, the local statistics departments corporate trans-regional production statistics from operating activities in the local area. For example, in the the Xiangfan production of Teana car is calculated in Guangdong's GDP or computing in Hubei GDP, is a problem.
Around the country use the basis of incomplete information. GDP accounting requires a large amount of basic data, regional and national GDP accounting information gap exists, requires a different calculation method to solve. Quite different due to the economic development of different regions of China, it is difficult to develop the projected unified national standard, only to develop projections principle and amplitude range.
Fourth, countries in the accounting of the GDP, from all angles to assess the major underlying data, does not meet the actual situation or obvious abnormalities underlying data to make the appropriate correction (mostly down). Various regions in the accounting of the GDP, although the assessment, but the the master scale amendments general country to loose.
Fifth, GDP is widely used in various forms of performance evaluation, a few local governments have not yet firmly establish the scientific concept of development and the correct view of achievements in the statistics on fraud, resulting in local statistics are often systematic tendency to overestimate.
Effective reform beyond the statistics department in addition to the final accounting juncture in GDP under count one ", is in the front of the GDP accounting:
First part of the services industry survey system, sample survey system, the establishment of the department in charge of the service industry, below the limit wholesale and retail , accommodation and catering retail sales of social consumer goods total monthly sample survey system.
Second, the reform of the accounting methods of the above-scale industrial added value. The cost of the industrial enterprises above designated size survey system, the abolition of the value added by the enterprise computing take enterprise to provide the basic data, way increase value calculated by the statistics department.
Third, the construction industry added value of a unified account. A unified account of national and sub-provincial value added of construction, and gradually narrow the gap between the value added of construction of regional and national data.
The fundamental policy is that as soon as the transition to a unified accounting from the accounting classification. Of course, a unified account and there will be a new problem, namely the maintenance of their own interests everywhere, unified accounting therefore will face resistance. (Yeqing of Hubei Provincial Bureau of Statistics)

Very honest picture of the situation.

You just have to hope some big item businesses arent listed in two or more provinces..../sarcasm
