Life in Sri Lanka

Both Sri Lanka and Kerala belong to top 20 biodiversity hotspots:tup:

Because of that Kerala faces huge difficulty in establishing huge industries, building dams and even laying roads through forest as the proposals are constantly struck down by the environment ministry as it needs the destruction of forest and hence alter the biodiversity.

I think thats the price one have to pay for living in" Gods Own Country".

Yep, we face similar difficulties but we do give priority to protect nature. People have to get permission to cut some trees, also for transport. Not allowed hunting, even wild pigs. Government banned importing vehicles older than 2 years, it's a good move to protect nature but need regular monitoring. Most of Sri Lankan cities are green look.

Here's a pic of my living area, most of foreign friends ask "are u live in jungle?" Have you got net connections etc etc. lol They haven't idea about Sri Lanka/Green look.

I see you are geographically challenged. You dont "think" there is no comparison with sri lanka and kerala? Let me ask you, have you ever been to either place? I have....infact i am a native of kerala. Thailand and indonesia are placed much farther to sri lanka when compared to india. On top of that, there isnt any difference between kerala and srilanka when you look at the terrain or climate. I felt srilanka to be a bit more warmer in comparison. Thats all.

I have been to Srilanka 3 times .. geographically it almost feels like home. The flora and fauna are same..Lush green and beautiful with a humid tropical climate.

As far as I know Kerala mentioning together with Sri Lanka world's biodiversity hotspots as "Western ghats and Sri Lanka". I haven't personal experience about Kerala or Indonesia but bit know about their culture and have heard Kerala people are moderate than other southern states. ect. Yep, I agree with the Thailand (except their over flooded tourists areas) , just feel as my second home, they have most of our celebrations with different names.
