Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman addressed today the escalated tensions along the northern border with Syria and commented on the IAF’s response to a large-scale rocket attack launched by Iranian forces early Thursday morning.

“The Iranians tried to attack Israel, but no rocket fell in Israeli territory. Some of them fell in Syria, and some were intercepted by the Iron Dome. We hit nearly all Iranian infrastructures in Syria,” Lieberman said at the annual IDC Herzliya Conference. “They must understand: If it rains on us, it will pour on them.”

“Iran is perhaps the only country today that represents extremism not only in ideology but also in activism and its willingness to sacrifice its own citizens and future for the same extreme ideology," Lieberman added.

“Iran has wasted $13 billion in the Syrian civil war and continues to spend $2 billion a year there. Iran is wasting its next generation with its efforts to expand,” he stated.

“We are not going to let Iran turn Syria into an entire military base against Israel,” the minister said, stressing that Israel is not interested in any further escalation in violence with Syria but will retaliate with force against any attack on its territory.

“We are not interfering in the civil war, we are not interfering with our neighbors. We hope that one day they will stop talking about the destruction of Israel. We have no interest in escalating, but we have to be focused. It is a stubborn enemy that has been trying to hurt us for many years,” Lieberman said. “I hope that at this stage we have succeeded in finishing the new chapter in our stand against Iranian extremism.”

Most Extensive Campaign of Retaliatory Strikes
The overnight exchange was the largest-ever direct clash between the Iranian and Israeli militaries. Israel struck 50 Iranian targets in Syria after 20 rockets were fired towards the Golan Heights early Thursday morning by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp’s Quds Force, the IDF announced.

The targets included intelligence sites, logistics headquarters, a military compound, and logistics complex in al-Kiswah near the Syrian capital of Damascus, weapons storage sites belonging at Damascus International Airport, intelligence systems and installations, as well as observation, military posts and military hardware in the buffer zone. Additionally, the Iranian launcher from which the Grad rockets and Fajr 5 missiles were fired at Israel was also destroyed overnight.

According to IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis, the Israeli retaliation was “one of the greatest operations of the Israel Air Force in the past decade.”

Most of the Iranian rockets fell in Syria, the Spokesman said, adding that four missiles had been intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system which had been deployed in the north.

Israel Defense Forces released a video Thursday of an Israeli strike taking out a Syrian air defense battery. The strike occurred during Israel's retaliatory attack early Thursday morning in response to rocket fire from Syria earlier that day, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.

The video appears to be filmed from a camera loaded on the Israeli rocket. The rocket flies down toward the Syrian SA22, a combined short to medium range surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery battery, eventually cutting out when it seems to hit the target.

During the operation by the Israel Air Force on Thursday morning, Israeli jets were met with heavy anti-aircraft fire from the Syrian regime and in return, destroyed a total of five such air defense batteries.

The operation came as a response to 20 rockets which were fired toward Israel’s northern front in the Golan Heights by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp’s Quds Force from Syrian territory.

Incoming rocket sirens were activated at 12:10 in Israel’s northern Golan Heights communities of Majdal Shams, Neve Ativ, Nimrod, Masa’ade, Buqa’ata, Odem and El Rom.
Israel has been preparing for a direct attack from the Quds force since mid-April, in response to a strike allegedly carried out by the Jewish state against an Iranian operated airbase in Syria which killed seven IRGC soldiers.

On Tuesday night, the military instructed local governments to open bomb shelters to residents of the Golan Heights following the identification of “abnormal movements of Iranian forces in Syria.”

The IDF has raised preparedness of “troops for an attack” and deployed air defenses in the several locations in the north of the country.

Incorrect. Iran doesn't have SA-22 in Syria. That is murdering Syrian soldiers for fun.

SA-22 among others shot at Israeli plane while strucking Iranian targets, in response the Israeli air force destroyed 5 anti missile batteries.
Also, it was announced that if Syria will support the actions of the Iranian regime, it will suffer

Hahahah. Your leaders keep fooling you and you "chosen ones" are chosen to be fooled.

Widescale Attack of Iranian TargetsRelease date10.05.2018

Tonight (Thursday), the IDF attacked dozens of military targets belonging to the Iranian Quds Force in Syrian territory using IAF fighter jets.

As part of the widescale attack, Quds Force intelligence centers, Quds Force logistical command centers, a Quds Force military center and a Quds Force logistical center in Al-Kiswah, as well as an Iranian military base north of Damascus were attacked. Additional targets included Quds Force ammunition depots in the Damascus International Airport, intelligence systems and outposts associated with the Quds Force, watchtowers, military posts and munitions in the buffer zone. In addition, the Iranian missile launcher responsible for the missiles fired on Israeli territory tonight was destroyed.

The IAF attacked following an attack on Israel performed by Iranian aerial defense systems in spite of Israel’s warning. In retaliation, the IDF attacked a number of aerial interception systems (SA-5, SA-17, SA-22, SA-2) belonging to the Syrian military. All IAF aircraft returned to their airbases safely.

The Israeli attack followed the rockets launched by the Iranian Quds Force towards the IDF’s outpost line in the Golan Heights. None were injured in the Iranian attack, no damage was caused, and no missile hits were detected in Israel’s territory.

The Iranian attack on Israel tonight is more decisive proof of the intention behind the Iranian military establishment in Syria, and the danger it poses on Israel and stability in the region.

Israel’s home front is in routine activity, with school and agricultural work proceeding as usual.

The IDF will continue to operate in a determinate matter in opposition to the Iranian military establishment in Syria. The IDF holds the Syrian regime responsible for the actions performed in its territory, and warns it against taking action. The IDF is highly prepared for various scenarios, and will continue to do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of Israel’s civilians.

Iranian targets are beyond the air defense of the Syrians, let the Zionist terrorists send some more jets close enough in Syria to be shot down and then claim 'victory' in the early hours like they did during their humiliation in 2006. Death to the Zionist racist apartheid state, may its ambitions all fail.

You can also expect Avigdor 'racist and proud' Liberman to be spouting a lot of hot air and exaggerations.

Sorry but the video is clear, you are fooling yourself.

They have destroyed clearly..

Few videos cannot prove everything. There are tons of videos showing Syrian Missiles pounding Gollen.

Israel has a long history of lying about its military. During the Gulf war hundreds of Israelis were injured / killed during Scud attacks, but Israel claimed that its Patriot batteries shot most of them down. Later the US admitted that those Patriot batteries were flawed and unable to shoot anything down.

Recently Israeli jets were shot down and whats more - an F-35 was severely damaged. They just made up a cock and bull story about a bird strike. Must have been a metal bird...

Now more idiotic "chosen" "superior" race lies coming out about Syrian "strikes" and "iron dome". Pathetic.

Lol, one jet was shot down and u say they're jet"s".
Also F-35 was hit? got any PROFF to ur claim or just words?

just laugh ... IRGC engineering force already began to make fortified underground bases in Syria ... some are saying these are even better than Hezbullah underground bases ... so you really can't harm them with conventional weapons ...

long story short ... Israel will bomb some target and talk about it but most valuable resources are safe and sound and ready to be used when we decide it time to do some *** spanking ...
our leader and IRIGC are really calm about this issues , that mean there is no real damage to our plane ....

in 1-2 years we can effectivly impose no fly zone over Occupied Palestine ... then the real fun will begin ...

You're both lying AND confused here. It was the U.S., not Israel, which deployed Patriot missiles Israel in 1991. The fibs at the time about their effectiveness were American. Israel's military did not engage. Only two Israeli deaths were directly attributed to Saddam's Scuds, though dozens more were injured.

Now more idiotic "chosen" "superior" race lies coming out about Syrian "strikes" and "iron dome". Pathetic.
Since your premises are phony how can you trust your judgment? You can't.
