Any updates on the Indian evacution plans??? Just heard that :US,UK,Russia,Greece,China,France have all sent military planes/ships/ferries (China even sent a fishing trawler lol!) has GOI come up with any plans yet?? is a fleet being assembled??

GOI should take this as urgent matter rather than putting on hold (latka do)

There are many ships in that area - Royal Navy ships are stationed just outside Libyan waters and I hope soon some sort of intervention from the powers-that-matter begins.

No-fly zones must be established over Libya for Libyan airforce as they are also firing missiles into the protestors.

Does anyone know how long it takes to sail IN ships from India-Libya;there is talk of taking INS Tabar or whatever INS is on-station in the Gulf of Aden, but why?? Time constainents?? Fincancial issues?? Why can't a FLEET of larger ships who have been specifically tasked for this role (all non-essential equipment taken off and hangers/decks made safe for civilians along with all supplies for them food,water,blankets, entertainment etc..) especially with new inductions of large destroyers. LPDs and fleet tankers.

-It takes SIX days to sail from India-Libya, with a crisis like this that is too long hence why the IN ship on station in GoA makes sense.

The point there are 18,000 Indians in Libya is interesting it would take 45 Boeing 747s (I assume the plane AI would send) to eacuate all of them, some how I see this unlikely.

But it is annoying that GOI is still waiting whilst many other countries (US,Italy,France) have already sent planes and evacuated their nationals. And the thing is here in the UK the Govt has been criticised for their slow response to evacuting their nationals but chartered flights are now on the way but GOI is still waiting!!

NDTV is showing that a civilian ship is on standby in Alexandria. Hopefully something can be done. The officials are saying that they are not having any cooperation with the Libyan embassy in India

Almost all countries has started to mobilize Aircrafts/ Ships etc to evacuate their citizens from Libya, as the mercenaries has started to kill anything that moves. Why GOI is the last to press into action. Is indian lives so cheap?

Also, why the UN is not pressed into action when we have recieved solid news of the moron Dictator using Fighter Jets/ Warship to mass murder the protestors. He even had the audacity to appear on TV and declare that he will kill the rats (protestors) after house to house search.

These kind action only points to the uselessness of having the so called UN in place which is satisfied with issuing condemnation and is very swift in accepting USA's dictate to bomb other Tom, Dick and Iraq.
