My ONLY worry is that INCOMING MONSOON rains will destroy these newly paved roads...No?

Rain should never destroy roads. This only happens in Pakistan because the roads are a thin layer of tarmac.

In the UK our roads have multiple layers.

A typical residential road is at least 1 foot (300mm) thick.

Yes, the rain will definitely decimate these roads and that's what all contractors want to happen in the first place.
Even some of them are built on purpose before monsoon so that new contracts can be awarded.
The construction industry of Pakistan is one of the top most corrupt sectors in the country.

Dedicated plant machinery has been earmarked by us to address choke pts of both the drains during rains to ensure uninterrupted flow of water in both these major drains of Karachi city. Remaining development works on these drains will be completed in shortest possible time after Monsoon
