They travel in luxury cars, use i-phones and eat meat at expensive restaurants, yet if a poor guy slaughters a lamb during Eid-ul-Azha and distributes meat among the distitutes, they get their panties in a twist over the poor lamb and the money spent on it's purchase.
They are nowhere to be seen when a disaster strikes, yet you see mullah charity organizations like al-khidmat and FIF at the forefront whenever there is a flood, earthquake, IDP crisis or any other natural calamity.

Mate no problem in using expensive cars or using iPhones etc, I do it as well but at the same time I'm pro-charity and try contribute from time to time like hadya for the local massajid, Muslim-Aide in Sweden that helps people in distress and help individuals in need directly regardless of their religion or ethnic backgrounds. And I always feel I should do more...Allah bless us with the will to do more good, more charity and more help for other human beings.

No sir, Sweden is not the centre of Vulgarity rather I found it more modest than many Muslim cities like Dubai, Kuala Lumpur etc since prostitution is banned here and I haven't seen street girls strutting up and down the allays, there are no red light areas and even sex shops are rare and not so obvious, no displays of nudity...
Furthermore being a very cold country, most of the people wear a lot more then even sharia recommends ....So I feel very comfortable walking alone or with friends and family especially females here. Most of the people make their opinions from media and disinformation spread by people but the ground realities are different...I wrote so much because I love my adopted country and I respect their culture.

No mate, we don't want to give money to Israel. We don't want to give money to the terrorists of ISIS, Al-Nusra, FSA or the butcher Bashar-al-Assad. We just want to help the common Syrians because their homes have been destroyed, their family members have been killed, they are homeless and displaced and that's why they have been forced to take shelters ... It makes me and sad and irritated to see the people lying shamelessly on purpose here just to support their agenda.. just look at these images.

You dont become any less or get poorer while helping anyone in need. Syrians and Yemenis need help. And we should help.

Pakistanis on the other hand, dont need as much. The reason Pakistan is not at war and we have structures and system of charities that do help and we as Pakistanis do donate and contribute towards that. There always will be need for more.

There's no one doubting Pakistanis dont need more. They do. But we as individuals can do a lot more than we are actually doing to help. Lets try to change the mindset and promote genuine political change to alleviate a lot of miseries visited upon our people. In Sind for example, is it a war or decades of bad governance and corruption that have made people to suffer? Lets get the perspective right. We have the benefit of peace, of strong army protecting our borders. Lets get our acts together to benefit from this peace dividend and work for a genuine social and political reform and a lot of our miseries will be addressed.

In Yemen and Syria, people have been displaced through conflict. They need food, shelter, healthcare. They dont have it as their country has been ravaged by foreign imposed civil wars.

So the type of help we can extend is different in different situations.

Its Allah's will too. That we as Muslim must help our fellow Musilm wherever they are in need or generally to help the humanity in its hour of need.

My own experience with them.. and I trust my own experience more than any survey..

Anyway, if you want to somehow get an idea, then I would say that MOST of the religious people do give 2.5% of their wealth (sadaqa is different from this), and MOST of the libtards don't agree with any additional deduction from their income or wealth, other than the tax they pay to their respective governments..

You are a rich person if you give charity and dont advertise it. You dont need to make arguments. Give as much as you. For Allah says your income is not yours but given by Me and only I know who has a share of your income. So on the Day of Judgment, Allah will open your account and ask you to account for why you did not give when people around you needed your money, your resources?

Of all the people, your parents, your siblings and your spouse are the most needy of your wealth/income. so when they are in need, dont hold back. This is when we say 'charity begins as home'. Not this Syria vs Pakistan match that is going on in this thread.

I see and it makes sense. But more important is find the reasons for not being charitable. I guess that has to do with the religion.

I personally think he is a nice guy but he is one of those people who have very rigid ideas and think that what they believe is right. Charity is like giving it away and you expect the return from Almighty in the life hereafter...By the way, I get return immediately...the peace in heart and love for humanity and btw Allah give you more in this world as well

Exactly, like everyone I also went through different phases in my life, initially when my business became successful and stable, I also started to indulge in luxurious and materialism started to taint my heart...branded things, expensive items, unique stuff... but Alhamdulillah my roots were strong for I slowly started to recover and my lust didn't reach the point of being irreversible...I'm recovering and trying to be better by giving more and taking less..May Allah guide me more on the truth path.
