What's new

Let us set the record straight

Of course Punjabis dominate Pakistan, Nawaz Shariff got all his votes from Punjab.
More population more votes thick head, sharif brothers have done wonders for that province.

And that is why they dominate Pakistani politics Einstein which is exactly what I was saying.

Nawaz Sharif is an 'ethnic' Kashmiri !

He got enough votes to form a Government in Baluchistan but instead gave the Baluch & the Pukhtoon Nationalist Parties the chance to form the Government & take the Governorship respectively !

And he got enough votes to form a Coalition Government in Khyber-Pukhtoonkhwa !

Thats him being able to form Governments in 3 out of the 4 Provinces of Pakistan ! :undecided:

Nawaz Sharif's ancestors came to Amritsar Punjab ( Village named Jati Umra in Amritsar District ) from Anantnag, Kashmir. His father Muhammad Sharif was born and raised in Amritsar District, so yes they are Punjabis but trace their roots to Kashmir.

So do you Potohari People consider yourselves Punjabis ?
Why not? Photowar is in Punjab region. I can even speak different dialects of Punjabi. Its easy for us to understand you guys but you cannot completely understand us if we speak pure pahari/pothohari etc :D

Yaraaa yun tou Saraiki Region is a part of Punjab as well & Saraiki is arguably a dialect of Punjabi because to be honest there really is no such thing as 'Punjabi - except the Language spoken in the Land of the 5 Rivers', but they want a separate Province & they assert their separate identity & don't consider themselves Punjabis ! :(

We Pakistani already love to split ourselves in so many classes, sects, caste, provinces and languages and you want us to come forward with our demands as well :D I can assure you that you will never meet a single photowari who will have any such demand in his mind. We love Pakistan and we want to keep it united and strong and thats why most of us gave our lands for Dr AQ laboratory and Atomic plants in kahuta.

LOL if Zia was Muhajir than Punjabis had only 2 years in power. :alcoholic:
That jatt was also muhajir, basically foreigners has been ruling us but we never complain do we? ;)

Nawaz is not ethnic kashmiri but Lohar of punjabi decent. You know punjabi speaking people in Kashmir right? He is another muhajir. Poor punjabis has been under rule of others :(

We do not have this much loose definition of a pashtun.
1-Hazarewals do no count themeselves as pashtuns. They were even against renaming of the province to pakhtunkhwa even though majority of them have pathan roots. Their identity is hindko, hazarewal. Ayub khan was a hazarewal hindkowan not pashtun.
2- Yayha khan was a qizalbash , a hindkowan who was fluent in pashto. They dont identify themeselves as pashtuns.
3- The one and only Pashtun president was ghulam ishaq khan from bannu.

Some hindkos are punjabis and others pashtuns. Ayub Khan was pashtun. So your ideal pashtun leader will be someone from tribal areas who spoke perfect pashto? Otherwise he isn't pashtun?

You lose your pashtun identity when you lose your pashto and adopt another langauge and culture. Langauge is the important criterea of defining pashtun, but if some non-pashto speaker strongely adheres himself to pashtun qaum and its interests then we gladly welcome them in our folds. But if some one is of pashtun ancestory but doesnt care or feel connected to pashtun qaum...then dont expect us to give a damn about them.
Yahya khan ko gooli maro, wo qizalbash ta, uska hamari qaum sey koi taluq nahi. But there is some connection with ayub khan, but he didnt do any thing regarding educations and progress of pashtuns. Instead he once said that as long as pakhtun is illiterate and backward, there is no danger to integrity of pakistan.

Punjabis constitute as more than HALF the Pak's population. So it is only natural workforce is dominated by Punjabis. Those who fail to see it are jaded.

In the end we all are Pakistanis.
