SRINAGAR: Posters, purportedly put up by the Lashkar-e-Taiba, on Monday asked panchs and sarpanchs in villages of south Kashmir's Pulwama district to resign from their post within a week's time. Written in Urdu, the posters said, "Panchs and sarpanchs will be responsible if they don't obey and put in their papers."

General Officer Commanding 15 Corps Lt General S A Hasnain said, "These new warnings cannot be brushed aside. We are taking necessary measures in coordination with the local police."

The threat came on a day when chief minister Omar Abdullah said in Delhi that he intended to remove 26 more pickets of security forces from Srinagar soon.

The state is planning to hold local body elections in May. In the past one year, terrorists have gunned down nearly one dozen panchs and sarpanchs throughout the state, with the maximum number being killed in south Kashmir.

On Sunday, Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin described India-Pakistan "peace plan" as an attempt to "freeze the Kashmir issue" and asked Kashmiri separatists to be united against this "conspiracy" for "isolating Kashmiris"

Well..... they (terrorist AKA freedom fighters) are clearly exposed , they believe in theory that they are right and if anyone has an other though they will kill them.

So what's new? These bozos have been doing this since the past two decades, killing more that 10,000 innocent Kashmiris. But remember, most of the Kashmiris killed were not by the Hizb (HuM, the local militant group) but by terror groups infiltrated from across the LoC like the Let, JeM, MJF and other assorted groups.

Because they care a damn about the Kashmiris since they aren't Kashmiri themselves!

As Kayani himself had mentioned to his American counterpart, the militant groups operating out of Pakistan are his 'strategic assets'!! Therefore, he can turn the terror tap 'off' or 'on' depending on the situation. This is an excellent way to conduct a protracted low intensity war. It is low cost and deniable. The terrorists are being used by the PA as cannon fodder keeping the the latter away from direct contact with Indian security forces.

On the Indian side, the terrorists sent from across the border are being used for target practice by the security forces. Even the J&K Police have now become expert marksmen due to the 'on job training' they're getting in live firing, thanks to the militants! The only problem is collecting the dozens of dead bodies of the terrorists almost daily which is a fairly messy, time consuming job!!

Gimme a break!! This argument has been bandied about a gazillion times. The LeT, who are mixed up with the Taliban and the Al Qaeda, are 'freedom fighters'??? C'mon buddy, you can do better than that! You know it and I know it and the whole wide world knows it. Why put up a charade?

And similarly, would you say the TTP and the BLA are also 'freedom fighters'? For you they are terrorists. For the Balochis they are freedom fighters. What's sauce for the goose may not be sauce for the gander. One man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter!

I can agree to a certain degree if you say that some local indigenous misguided Kashmiri youth in the Kashmir Valley are fighting for their 'freedom' from India (and also from Pakistan's influence). But self serving state sponsored terrorists ('Strategic assets' as Kayani calls them) like the LeT from Pakistan are freedom fighters? Jeeez! That's a lame argument!

They are mercenaries. Period. Emoluments? Rs 20,000 for the terrorist foot soldier to Rs 50,000 for a 'commander'. Rs 3 Lakhs (must have increased now) to the family of a terrorist who gets killed. Rs 2 Lakhs bonus for a successful ambush on security forces and Rs 50,000 to those providing info on security forces that results in a successful op. That's called monetary motivation for a mercenary army of terrorists like the LeT and JeM. This in no way can be termed as fighting for 'freedom'! Its plain and simple terrorism!!

One doesn't need monetary motivation and bonuses when one is fighting for his freedom!
