LeJ's Malik Ishaq put under house arrest
Published: September 22, 2011
District authorities in Rahim Yar Khan put the leader of banned organisation Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Malik Ishaq under house arrest for 10 days due to security reasons, late Thursday night.
A police contingent has been deployed outside Ishaq’s house and people have been barred from visiting him.
Ishaq had recieved his passport to perform Umrah a few days ago.
Ishaq, the alleged mastermind of the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team at Liberty Chowk in 2009, was granted bail by the Supreme Court, Lahore registry, after the prosecution failed to prove his involvement.
After being released from jail on bail, Ishaq’s presence managed to cause violence and death last week when members of his entourage clashed with a Shia community in Muzaffargarh district, resulting in at least two deaths and ten injuries.

Below is our post from the Dr. Usman terrorist of the GHQ attack:

involvement in anything, which is why no serving members of the Army nor the ISI have been implicated in anything, not the planning, not the use of "assets" to infiltrate groups, not arranging the escape after various acts of terror - this should be clear to all.
Shortly after the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009, Aqeel Ahmed alias Dr Usman alias Kamran alias Nazir Ahmed fled to Waziristan where he met the head of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan`s Amjad Farooqui Group, Ustad Aslam Yasin and Ilyas Kashmiri.
Interesting that a who who of international terrorism should be assembled in NWA, and given that the international terrorist community is small, everyone sort of knows and hangs out with each other - Why was the Lankan team attacked again? by whom? and recall the "escape" of the group?

Ahmed, who is known for his involvement in a number of high-profile attacks, including those on Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf, joined Harkatul Jihad Al Islami in 1999 after completing his studies and went to Afghanistan twice.

After 9/11, he returned to Pakistan after being injured and joined the Army Medical Corps (AMC) as a nursing assistant and was posted to the CMH in Rawalpindi. He was still in touch with Jihadi `friends` then.

It was here that he became friends with another accused, Imran Siddique, who was then a soldier in the army.
After completing his studies he went to Afghanistan (twice) as if it was de rigeur - Where did he study that it was de rigeur to serve in Afghanistan? who facilitated this? With whom did he ftrain or fight in Afghanistan? Was this known when he enlisted in the Army?

Readers will note that nowhere is the JeJ mentioned in the so called "confessional statement" - coincidence?
