Flattened buildings and drones overhead in Dahieh

Damage in Beirut

We are in Beirut’s southern suburbs known as Dahieh, the Hezbollah base in the capital, as part of a media tour organised by the group.

Hezbollah organised the tour to show what the group described as "some of the barbaric Israeli attacks on residential buildings and media institutions".

It was a rare chance to visit some of the sites hit in this intense campaign of Israeli airstrikes. One of the locations we were taken to was the building belonging to Sirat TV, hit on Monday.

It was flattened, and nearby buildings were severely damaged, an indication of the power of the attack.

There was still smoke billowing from the rubble and a heavy smell in the air. As we visited we could hear the sound of drones flying overhead.

There were several posters with the face of the Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, killed in an Israeli airstrike in Dahieh last week, and a banner saying: "None of our banners shall fall".

The second location was a residential building hit yesterday, also flattened.

Israel has accused the group of embedding its facilities, including weapons storage sites, in residential areas, and of using the civilian population as human shields, something Hezbollah has denied.

The Israeli army demonstrated the use of UH-60A Yanshuf 3 helicopters and CH-53K King Stallion helicopters to evacuate the wounded. Both helicopters are American-made. In the video, the 669th Air Rescue and Evacuation Unit evacuates wounded soldiers from Lebanon. Initially, the unit rescued downed pilots behind the front line, but gradually the tasks expanded to evacuate soldiers. Let me remind you that Merkava Mk.IV tanks are currently on the border with Lebanon, and they may have already entered the adjacent territory.

It seems most bunker positions of Hezbollah are found out in Beirut by israel by spies, finding entry positions or by any other means. Leadership relocation to Syria or even Iran should be considered(they can be hit on transfer ofcourse, as responsibles the precautions for protection should have been thought out by Iran before us forum writers here). Smaller tunnel networks and smaller bunkers can be employed maybe in other cities of Labennon for lower level commanders. Drones flying in Syria can be used as communication relay channels to communicate with Hezbollah forces in Labennon or some other communication wire-wireless strongly encrypted channel can be deployed.

Qatar has declared its full support for Lebanon in the face of rising tensions with Israel. This show of solidarity comes amid escalating hostilities between Israel and its regional neighbors. Qatar, known for its active diplomatic role in Middle Eastern affairs, often aligns itself with countries facing Israeli aggression, reflecting its broader stance on supporting Palestinian and Arab causes. Lebanon, which shares a volatile border with Israel, has been a hotspot for intermittent conflicts, particularly involving Hezbollah.

Qatar's support could manifest in diplomatic backing, financial aid, or humanitarian assistance, underscoring its commitment to Lebanon's sovereignty and security. This move further highlights the complexities of Middle Eastern alliances and the potential for broader regional involvement in the ongoing Israeli-Lebanese tensions.
