I've played both Dota 2 and LoL, and am confident as to say that within the next year, Dota 2 will not only match, but exceed LoL's popularity. Dota 2 is just a superior product in every way.

All was in vain as the Sri Lankans beat Pakistan. Still, not a fan of cricket.

Currently, it isn't. LoL still have more active players than Dota 2, today Dota 2 peaked at 650,813, Steam: Game and Player Statistics , LoL still boasts over a million each day.

RTS? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the terms Dota clone or Moba were being used.

RTS stands for real time strategy and iam sure both dota and lol qualify for this genre.

I wouldn't really considering it RTS simply because RTS would imply that you control more than 1 character at a time. StarCraft, C&C, Planetary annihilation would all count, but Dota and LoL I don't think should qualify.
