In 7th., then after FOC is complete. Probably in MK-1A.

Noob Question : Why have they painted the aircraft when it is still under assembly?

The Aircrafts which you see here are not in assembly but those that took to the skies several times, eg: The KH-2017 which you see is the same aircraft that performed at Bahrain earlier this year. Maybe these are undergoing upgrades or are getting serviced.

Gentlemen

Many of you might not know how many tests need to be done before IFR Probe is added :-

1) Drag- Test done in wind tunnel to start with will IFR spoil the Airfoil, also includes Induced Vibration Test
2) Stress test on Metal used for Probe.
3) Fuel Test - Connecting with Fuel Pipes and checking flow of Fluids. Stress on Fuel Pump stress at 30k Feet or 8.89Inches Hg
4) Separation Test in-case of an accident.

To name a few....Adding a Juice Straw aint that Simple.
