It can not be smaller than this because of safety reasons and it provides more space to the pilot to connect .


see for yourself buddy however, I think all this improvement should be on Mark II.

I think you miss the fact that IFR probes have size requirements to be compatible with the chutes that they dock to.

And Tejas is a smaller jet. Rafaler is bit bigger.

Wouldn't it limit pilot's visibility just looking straight?

doesn't make a difference. in the flight regimes it will fight, visual combat will be fairly rare.

Considering LCA is small it should be installed at an angle. This probe directly can affect fuel vision. Another thing they should have done is custom designed Fuel probe by an foreign vendor instead of going for an large established design

it's ok dude, plus pilot will have great visibility when engaging with refuelling system. This is just ok.

This is just a interim patchwork.

Already they must have redid the plumbing. (Get it? Plumbing? India.. shit.. plumbing?? )

Can't Imagine the level of work need to be done for the Snecma-GTRE Kaveri implement coming in 2 years. Entire plumbing needs to be done again.

Also, MK1A cone needs a redesign.

This IFR requirement is a mistake.

The entire Tejas program is becoming a Test bed for the AMCA. Heard the proto phase has begun.
