ISLAMABAD: A parent has filed an application with the police accusing the Sector F-10 branch of an elite private school of harassing his children after he challenged the school’s “irrational” late fee charges.

The school has also filed a counter application saying the man misbehaved with school staff over the fee issue.

Naseem Ali Khan, who has two children enrolled in the school, filed an application with the Shalimar police saying that teachers at the school “tortured” his sons and did not provide the children with lunch on November 29 because he had challenged the Rs13,000 the school had demanded in late fee charges.

“I had to pay around Rs100,000 in advanced fees for four months by Nov 21. I missed the deadline by a few days and they demanded additional Rs13,000 as late fee charges. I argued that I was late for the month of November but not for the next three months. I was willing to pay late fee charges for one month but questioned why should I pay ‘late fee charges’ for Dec, Jan and Feb if I am paying the fee in November,” Khan told The Express Tribune.

Khan says that on November 29, his children were removed from the classroom and confined to a separate room.

The same day, the school principal handed over a notice to the children which said they would not be allowed to attend class. “On November 30, my kids went to school as usual and the school management showed their utmost cruelty and kept my kids in open air from 8:30am to 1pm,” says Khan, added that one of his children fell ill from standing out in the cold and smog.

He has requested the police and the Private Educational Institutions Regualtory Authority to take action against the principal for “harassing and torturing” his sons.

The school countered the application by filing its own application against Khan. They claim that Khan misbehaved with their staff over fee issue.

Shalimar police told The Express Tribune that they would summon both parties to hear their points of view. “It was a minor issue, which could have been resolved at the school. We will try to convince them to resolve it amicably,” a police officer said.

The school’s CEO told The Express Tribune that she “did not have time to discuss this issue”.

Schools are not there to teach. They are just there to make money. Untrained teachers with no formal teaching qualifications. No formal curriculum. Each school does what it wants. Dumb teachers. Dumb parents and hence dumb students. this is all over pakistan India Bangladesh etc

The semester fee of really good universities goes in between 60K-80K ... and You have a school charging 100K for 4 months (equivlant to a semester) ... what sorta $hit deal is this ? This is beyond disgraceful ... where you concurrently run 2-3 different types of education where the elite class gets to access one type of education and the other class has to access another ...(I'm actually doing a research on a related topic)

Here is a video of how the Fins do it (top country in education right now)

You wished Trump to win...
I hope this is not the reason they are blocking the video in this country. Because so many videos from Pakistan are also blocked in US.
The channels on YouTube were open to everyone but now they have blocked to US.

PKR13k as penalty for fees of PKR100k, School or Shylock Inc?
Education is the biggest and the most profitable industry in Pakistan. 99.9999% of the private schools have only one objective i.e. how to make as much money as possible. Everything else comes second. Govt of Pakistan colludes with them and connives their wrong doings as there are no standards to be maintained, students and parents are not provided any protection against exploitation of the schools.

Let me act devil's advocate here, who forced them to send their child to such an expensive school. I am not against selecting the best education for your kid but still one has to make a discretion and I don't think that 100K fee school is producing any Dr Abdus Salams or Dr Abdul Qadeer Khans... still the most productive and prominent personalities in Pakistan have studied at some govt schools.
It is not the school rather we who let them exploit us. This can be extended to other day to day experiences, for example, when some food item becomes scarce in the market, people line up and pay the hefty prices for the black marketed items. I remember once it happened with tomatoes while i was visiting my relatives..and they purchased at like multiple times the original price ..and I was wondering if people refrain from using it for a few days, the prices will automatically come down since it is a perishable produce and a non-vital item (i.e. people can survive without it).

Wow ,Bro you got it spot on.
I'm a product of Roots school system,Until my Middle-school I had the best teachers who were brilliant and choose to do SSC because O levels got kinda hard.
I found the so called inferior SSC hundred times better plus the teachers mainly handled us like their own children,That was the biggest difference and had no Ego ,On the other side the O levels branch (The superior one) was not that great.
Then I went to do A levels because roots didn't have FSC at that time.
I joined RCI DHA islamabad and found it to be the worst college,I had friends in beacon house etc which were far better.
The only best bet you had was you're friends ,Who guided and helped you along the way.
The private schools in Pakistan are totally Shit,Especially the renowned ones.
When you take classes there is no consideration for anybody.
A kid comes in the first time, just take the class and it goes over you're head because you "Just joined" and the Teacher is getting a In-depth lecture on Some organic chemistry class.
Anyways to make this short I absolutely agree with you,the private schools are very very very bad,Only credit and full marks goes to the students of those institutions like (Ali moeen nawazish) from Roots that did brilliantly and worked hard.
Trust me all those bright students don't have a single benefit from the school,it just happens because they're bright,Then the school takes the credit, its absolutely baloney .
