The latest IDC research report shows the rankings for large LCD panel display manufacturers worldwide for second-quarter 2017 are:

1. BOE Technology Group (China) - 21.2% global market share
2. LG (South Korea) - 17.2%
3. Innolux (Taiwan) - 16.8%
4. AUO or AU Optronics (Taiwan) - 13.8%

Relatively mature technologies, like large LCD panel displays, will ultimately be dominated by mainland China.

Without a technological advantage for foreign competitors, mainland China's economies of scale will prove decisive in determining the market leader.

Here, we see China's BOE Technology Group as the worldwide leader of the large LCD panel display industry.

Of course, I can still make the clever argument that combining the two Taiwanese companies yields a larger worldwide market share.

Innolux 16.8% + AUO 13.8% = 30.6% Taiwanese worldwide market-share in large LCD panels

However, I think China's BOE will grow its worldwide market-share in the long run.

The TFT-LCD display panel is the glass on the front of an LCD TV.

The original post was about the world's largest manufacturers of the TFT-LCD display panel/glass.

Below is a quote for an AUO LCD 18.5 inch panel.

Samsung buys the TFT-LCD panel/display glass and incorporates it into their LCD TVs.

NO,LCD panel not the glass on the front of TV, it actually almost is a TV, TV manufacture just need add a hull and a PCB circuts board on it.

Samsung ranks NO.5 LCD panel manufacture

they will be:lol:
I think this is fake news....
Every time I read PDF RSSers' comments, I thought Supa Powa should be ranked top 1 in anything.....
They have the best talents in NASA, they have the most PPP money.
The only explanation, fake news!

I think you're wrong.

The top right-hand corner of the Alibaba citation shows an AUO 55 inch LCD panel priced at "US$1-10 / Piece."

then alibaba must be wrong .the cost of LCD panel is almost 70% -80% of a LCD TV

I don't know.

I do know Samsung was buying LCD panels from Japan's Sharp. Taiwan's Foxconn bought Sharp and stopped selling large LCD panels to Samsung.

When you look at the picture of an LCD panel in the article below, it looks like it's just the LCD glass.

Do your eyeballs agree with me? The picture looks clearly like LCD glass only.
