Lal Masjid’s expansionism, militant links alarms agencies

Neither WAPDA nor NHA.........

The establishment as you like to call it, isn't really as cozy with MR at the moment as you think.

With Kayani went his cohorts and especially CC V Corps Sajjad Ghani (rumor has it that he is getting either Chairman WAPDA or NHA) and the construction company that Pak Army became stopped.

So Malik Riaz is all alone right now...at least in the big picture.

I wish the dumb commando had done at-least one task in full, All of his half done job became disaster for Pakistan.
People do die of diseases or in accidents don't they? All that is needed is a well planned and well orchestrated assassination attempt to take out this dog (Aziz-the-terrorist). Can we learn something from Mossad/CIA?

You were saying about Islamabad being the car snatching hub of Pakistan? :disagree:

I might be guilty of exhagerration, but I have lived in Islamabad for decades. Before 2007, car jackings and kidnappings were literally unknown. As for kidnappings for ransom, in 2013, we got a 266% increase. And most kidnappings never make it to the news and media. I personally know 3 people who got kidnapped, but released for ransom of crores. Sectarianism is also a new phenomenon. Trust me, we Potoharis hate deobandis way more than shiites hence we're free from that disease afflicting the rest of Pakistan.

As I said, the people who destroyed Peshawar are after Islamabad now.

@ghoul, your knowledge of ground realities in Pindi and Islamabad is pretty impressive!

Btw, it's almost impossible to impress me!

Lol I be honoured. haha

Comparatively. City size / population wise, Islamabad eats the cake! :D

Don't forget, it's almost impossible to register an FIR in Islamabad.........

@RescueRanger, trust you me on registration of FIR part........ :p:

I visited Islamabad in December this year. Last time I saw Islamabad was in 2007. I just could not believe my eyes and my heart filled with sorrow. Islamabad of 2014 was a total stranger to me, dusty, dirty, noisy, and broken. Even Faisal mosque was not what it used to be. Has CDA ceased to function altogether?

Car jackings were always there, just that they were confined to Taxila and pindi, as the people who commit such crimes have become more socially mobile so has their reach. Kidnappings in Islamabad and Rawalpindi are nothing compared to what happens in Quetta, Peshawar and dare i say it poor Karachi.

Kidnapping was major business back when I was growing up in the 80's and 90's, you just had to belong to the right family... You know these people who paid ransom, did you know payment of ransom is against Pakistani law? The problem is people don't report extortion and K&R cases to the relevant authorities then how can the authorities respond?

Crime is a problem in any city, Islamabad is very peaceful compared to other parts of Pakistan. The whole "the sky is falling" drama doesn't gel with me, because at it's core it is scaremongering at it's best. The situation in Islamabad vis-a-via any other part of Pakistan is relatively mild.

The current CDA director public works is a corrupt douche bag. What more can you expect.

@Hyperion, i believe you. The problem is that good officers like Dr. Taimuri and SSP Hashmi have been given the boot. That useless old coot Bani Ameen created all this nonsense. Before his entry into IG office the situation at Islamabad Police was very, very good. Since then it has become a free for all, just visiting Police lines, looks more like a bloody business and less like a police lines.

Yara, I never judge people whole-sale. I've seen his other posts. Some borderline racist, some exaggerations and some pure conjecture. Having said that, remove the 'angry man / vindictive' component from his posts on this thread and you'll see some above-the-fold raw information (not wisdom, yet, however, he has the potential to get there) In short, he has a good/keen eye, which does see beyond the obvious.

are you being sarcastic or acctually serious - because i suggest you hold on to that comment and wait for his other posts :D
and as far as your knowledge is concerned then

not sure why you guys are saying like this, if we ignore the growing number of extremists and the flow of people from FATA and tribal areas , making the twin cities more congested, i don't find anything worst then what people in Lahore, Karachi have to go through,

Dude, Karachi has been !@#$ for the past 20 years, everyone knows that, and you guys are largely yourselves to blame for that. Islamabad was a perfect oasis in Pakistan only 7 years ago. Now it's dead dangerous unless you keep a low profile. You guys are so used to a heavy crime rate and violence, that you don't see any difference. Besides, the reason for Karachi's drain were the local Karachiites(MQM). The reason for Islamabad's downfall are Afghans, jobless criminals from Peshawar.

Lahore is a heaven lol. PML-N's spoilt and most loved child. It's 10 times safer than Islamabad.

And I was specifically talking about Rawalpindi rather than Islamabad, where SSP and LEJ have started making headway under blessing from this Taji Khokhar and PML-N.

Man I'm improving on that. Haha. It's wrong to generalize communities and all. Also, yeah I have some anger issues but improving on that too.

Acha... And how about the gangs of Rawalpindi? Last time i checked Hatora gang are all Punjabi, local lifora types. How do you think the spare parts market in babbu Bazzar gets a nice regular supply of Mehran bumpers for rs. 500 a pop? Are you telling me that the Afghan's living in H11 which by the way is now one of the most sensitive sites in Islamabad, steal cars along the Peshawar road expressway and somehow elude the 8/9 check posts along routes form Peshawar road via choor bazzar into West-ridge and into Rawalpindi city, or how about the check post from H11 Police lines near NESCOM Hospital to the check post near G9 moar?

No brother, this is not some Afghan refugees doing the crime but your own locals. You think local badmash allow people to work their territory without bakshsheesh? Get real!

Coming back to the subject of crime, local crime including petty larceny, drink and drug peddling and solicitation tends to come from Lal Kurti, and last I checked there are no Afghans living in Lal Kurti.

You are absolutely right on Pindi's radicalization part. In my personal opinion, on a nation wide scale, Pindi is being Deobandized/Wahabized at an incredible pace (this also includes 'hijrat' of almost all jehadi outfits, now setting camp in Pindi). It may, very well become the HQ of all Jehadi forces in Pakistan within 2 - 3 years.

Exactly!!!! Sometimes @ghoul's bipolar-evil-twin takes control of his emotions....... :p:
