Lahore Tree Massacre !!

Lahore is still rich with gardens; but Lahore is definitely not as green and natural as it was in our parents day. In the 1950s and 1960s it was a totally different city. There was no traffic or pollution. The roads were lined by rows of trees.

now its shiny billboards with lights, mobile towers, buildings and other things.....but trees can be planted and planting trees is good way to build community feeling. So residents of Lahore should get together and plant some trees.

you just need to define Lahore, otherwise in no time mureedkay, kasur, raiwind, shekhupura would be getting 042 code...

as for trees in civilized ways cutting down a single tree is heinous crime...

the load must be shifted to other cities, the policy of pouring down all the punjab budget on lahore is senseless.

Yea its so sad to see one of most fertile land in world is sacrificed at rapid pace. Projects like Bahria Town hint black money, made for rich. Pakistan lacks proper TIER II cities, after Lahore and Karachi you have Islamabaad which is huge administrative office (like Chandigarh in India) doesnt have desi city feel. In Indian Punjab alone I can count more TIER II cities than Pakistan, Amritsar/Ludhiana/Jallandar/Bhatinda/Patiala etc. Pakistan need more provinces and state capitals.

take it up with Punjab Government when they aren't busy fighting and securing their own personal interests and scoring vendettas...

i agree with you whole-heartedly, by the way.


But in the end, i know i'm always happy and in good spirits during my frequent Lahore visits. It's a magical city that never sleeps.
