Chinese Company Golden Bean Group is funding it ......

LAHORE - An agreement was signed yesterday between the Punjab government and Chinese company Golden Bean Group for construction of a state-of-the-art Theme Park and Aquarium in Lahore with a total cost of Rs36 billion where recreational facilities on the model of Dizneyland will be provided to the citizens.

Chinese company will complete the Theme Park in one and a half years.
Chairman company Jin Ming Nan and Commissioner Lahore Abdullah Sumbal along with DG PHA Mian Muhammad Shakeel signed the agreement in this regard.

Provincial Minister for Industries Ch Muhammad Shafiq was also present on this occasion.
Moreover, Golden Bean Group will also participate in the bidding along with national and international companies for construction of Sundar Workers Welfare Complex Phase-I, a project of Punjab Labour Department with a total cost of Rs7.
78 billion where 2900 apartments would be built for industrial workers and labourers.

This complex will also have the facilities of two separate PWWB schools for boys and girls, community center, mosque and other amenities of life.
Secretary Labour Ali Sarfraz and Chairman Jin Ming Nan signed the MoU in this regard.

Provincial Ministers Raja Ashfaq Sarwar and Ch Muhammad Shafiq lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Punjab for motivating foreign investors to invest in different development and industrial sectors as more than 150 MoUs, agreements and JVs have been signed between Punjab government and foreign investors in the last international business seminar held in Lahore because Punjab government is providing huge incentives and best environment for investment to foreign investors along with foolproof security.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Chinese investors met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and discussed the proposed project of setting up a modern theme park and aquarium in Lahore.

The Chinese investors expressed willingness to invest in the proposed project.
The chief minister said that the proposed project of theme park and state-of-the-art aquarium in Lahore is of vital importance for the provision of unique and international standard recreational facilities to the masses.

He said that necessary issues regarding the project would be settled expeditiously so that the project could be given a final shape.
He welcomed the interest shown by the Chinese investors and their willingness to invest in the proposed project.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government would provide all out facilities to the Chinese investors so that the project could be completed at the earliest.
He said that the project of modern theme park and aquarium in Lahore would result in new and unique recreational facilities to the citizens.

He said that the project would be the first of its kind in Pakistan and Chinese investors will make investment in the project.
He said that the matters relating to the project of provision of modern recreational facilities to the masses should be decided as early as possible.

The chief minister issued instructions for setting up a committee to deal with the issues regarding the project and said that the proposed committee should consider all aspects of the project for making further progress.

Chinese investors while talking to Chief Minister said that they are ready to make investment in the modern theme park and state-of-the-art aquarium in Lahore and this project will be unique with regard to provision of recreational facilities of international standard to the citizens.

They assured the Chief Minister that the project would be completed by the beginning of 2017.
The delegation also showed a documentary of a modern aquarium set up by the investors in China.
Chairman Punjab Investment Board, Secretary Forests, Commissioner Lahore Division, Director General LDA, Director General PHA and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.

3.6 Billion dollars is a huge amount for a theme park... Has this been confirmed yet?

It is just 360 million dollar , not 3.6 billion dollar and that too pvt investment not tax payer money.

Get mature guyz, its private investment. We understand the butt hurt of ptians as no international investors comes to so called Naya KPK for investing even a single penny.

Good step but why don't Punjab Govt reinstates Basant festival in Lahore as well. It was promoting soft image of the country but alas it was decorated under Musharaf so it will never be digested by these Sharif brothers.

How much to shut you up?

If they actually build a good facility, which I am sure SS will ensure then it will pay for itself in a few years. This is just an investment and people who don't know the difference between a million and a billion are crying over it. If it was being done by the great Khan, I am sure these same folk would have called it the greatest thing on earth.
