Lahore deputy commissioner issues release orders for TLP chief Saad Rizvi

The Lahore deputy commissioner (DC) issued on Saturday an order for the release of Saad Hussain Rizvi, chief of the proscribed Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

The DC's order comes days after the Lahore High Court had declared the detention of Rizvi illegal, approving a petition filed by Rizvi's uncle against his continued incarceration. Rizvi was detained by police on April 12 over charges that he had incited his followers to take the law into their own hands as, according to him, the government had reneged on its promise to expel the French ambassador.

The DC referred to the LHC's October 1 judgement in his order, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, saying that he was allowing Rizvi's release with immediate effect.

In addition, the DC's order referred to two earlier decisions taken by the federal review board of the Supreme Court with regards to Rizvi's detention.

It stated that a reference had been filed before the board for the extension of Rizvi's detention on September 29, and the board had extended the TLP chief's detention period for a month on Oct 2.

"The matter was again taken up in the meeting of the Federal Review Board ... on Oct 9, and [the] case was disposed off," it added.

Donations and funding's to all religious institutes should be closely monitored, there should be a dedicated ministry overseeing all NGOs and religious institutions. There should be laws made to keep check & balance on their money trails. Their books should be audited and made public every year.

Government should heavily invest in Madrasas & schools both. The difference between Molvi & Mister needs to be removed. Any Pakistani child going to any school/madrasa should fully know about Islam and also about sciences/worldly knowledge as well. We need to stop mass producing good for nothing madrsa students and school students as well.

The educational system needs a reform, I hope the single national curriculum system is able to deliver what we expect from it!

Get a life, I am Sunni. Majority Pakistani population is Sunni, only a small minority stands behind idiots like him and his father.
