Lahore police academy 'retaken'
Pakistani security forces say they have taken control of a police academy that was seized by a group of gunmen.

Television footage showed paramilitary troops celebrating on the roof of the compound, near Lahore, after they had besieged the building for eight hours.

A senior interior ministry official said four militants had been killed and three others had been arrested.

He said the number of people killed in the raid was still being verified. Reports vary between four and 40.

Officials announced that the siege had ended after sustained heavy gunfire lasting 10-15 minutes.

Dozens of people had been trapped inside the building.

The assault came less than a month after gunmen attacked the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore.

In that attack, six policemen were killed, while up to 14 gunmen escaped.

LAHORE: Security forces declared victory over attackers who besieged Manawan police academy, firing into the air in jubilation, Geo news reported on Monday.

At least three bearded men in vests put their hands in the air and surrendered to the small group of armed security forces and commandos on the rooftop of the main academy building just outside the city of Lahore.

The forces shouted "Allah Akbar" (God is great), flashed ‘V’ for victory signs and pumped bullets into the air, a traditional sign of celebration, nearly eight hours after attackers stormed the compound.

Interior Advisor Rehman Malik told Geo news that four terrorists have been killed in the operation while some arrested by security agencies. The arrested terrorists have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.

Well it's just kids on here, having been bashed about by some Afghan Tajiks on youtube then take out their insecurities on here. The people carrying out these attacks are Pakistani in a fair proportion of cases. That doesn't mean their masters are not foreign though.

On Geo news they confirmed the captured terrorist who wanted to attack our Pakistani helicopter was an Afghan national. Pakistan has welcomed them and took care of them for many decades they are not our responsibility..time for them to be packing their bags. Pakistan has had enough and needs to look after the citizens of Pakistan.

This is true that we are facing such a massive attacks on over motherland after mumbai attacks, so we can say that RAW will be behind this,

But good and bad peoples lives every where, in India and in Pakistan too, so we shouldnt bash any indian, and we should not insult any indian here!!

IG Punjab Police was lifted up in air by a crowd of people on their shoulders who were gathered in UNLIMITED numbers outside the Police academy chanting "Elite force Zindabaad, Punjab Police Zindabaad, Rangers aur Pak Fauj Zindabaad". It was truly a sea of people who were gathered there to support their brave countrymen. You could see Ranger, Elite force, Police and Rescue Team personnel being lifted on people's shoulders, and most of the SF personnel were carrying their weapons, raised in the air, with victory signs raised high in the sky giving an image of a Battle won successfully. And truly they did!

In this incident today an Afghan national was involved. For how long are we going to keep them in Pakistan? Its time for Afghan refugees to return back to Afghanistan....we Pakistanis must think of ourselves and our nation first.

I live in Karachi, and i know what afghanis are doing in Karachi!!
They kidnap the business mens of karachi and ask for money, and then transfer to fight against pak army, you should visit area of afghans in karachi, then u will know what they do!! No body other then afghanis can visit thier area, other wise they will kill u!!

Read the article again, they were talking about the attack that happened on Sri Lanka players on March 3rd in the last two sentences of that article you provided.

In today's attack in Lahore, no terrorist escaped.

Afghan govt can play best role for solving the prob of terrorism, bur every one knows what they are doing, Pakistan always help them but Karzai always bark about pakistan, tell me why they didnt stopped indians to establishing consulates in afghanistan??
