Well, some parts of British Lahore are kept intact. Some unfortunately are not, There was a British railway housing colony, it was for Government railway employees. That colony was made by the British and it had British gothic architecture with the blend of oriantalism. That was our historic heritage which was destroyed! The government sold that land, destroyed that beautifull colony, and built a golf club over it. Thanks to privatization fever. They are selling our historic heritage now...
By the way, Lahore is considered to be one of the oldest cities in the subcontinent, I heard its origins are expected to be 2000 year old. If not more. It has seen the rule of many governments and empires. Thus it is a historic and cultural heritage of Pakistan. Whether it is developed or under developed is not the point. Since this city has seen it all under various rule of governments.
