Lahore is just about similar, being a 100 years behind.

This crossing of Lahore collects water from many areas around, it is like a sump and water remain there for next 30 minutes after every rain. Its not a problem of lack of drainage... because one big drain line runs next to this crossing.

You always see pictures of this crossing, otherwise if you go to this place, you will find very good infrastructure.

Its a very important crossing and every on in Lahore knows it and photographers, flock to this crossing after every rain.

It just temporary situation.

A trillion dollar GDP can build towers of concrete and glass, but they don't impart any character. All you get is a generic modern city which gets boring real fast.

If you search google 'Lahore after rain' than you find only one crossing pictures.. basically same picture on top of the hit.

but at the same time you see hundreds of other pictures, which are from rest of Lahore but are completely ignored by the haters, who are slaves of prince Charles and his queen.

Picture above is just 1kM away from the pictures posted by haters and you see no photographer dared to visit this crossing.

A visit to the New York subway is a "treat" for the senses -- fat rats, urine smell, graffiti, ...

so people urinate on road sides in lahore too.I thought there is a possibility of that not happening since islam commands its followers to urinate in a sitting position and clean the genitals with water after the work is done.That is not possible on roadside.

By comparision, London's Subway is squeaky clean.. and except for the Overground and east end stations(I wonder why)... the rest are well kept and the trains in good condition. Even the district and circle lines arent as bad as the ones in Paris. The only one worth taking in Paris is the Yellow(1) line that runs along Champs Elysees... the rest are terrible.. and the stations worse.

Music however, is much more diverse and entertaining in the subways of Paris.
