I somehow find his conduct in opposition as too narrow-minded.

His not going to the all party meeting after the latest terrorist incidents, opposing the nuclear deal, opposing implementation of VAT earlier point to a worrying small mindedness that is not expected from a leader of his level.

They were all not because he had any objections to the issue itself, just for political expediency.

I think he is a honest guy and if reports are to be believed he has supported the Indo-US nuclear deal but only to get cowed by political pressure from within his own party. IMO, he is feeling that this is his last chance of getting PM at an age of 82, so he doesn't want to take too many risks and put his foot down on the party, lest he lose support form them. I'm disappointed with him on this account.

I hope, if he becomes PM, he will redeem himself and administer better.

No. In fact, peace process was started during last BJP regime, which was derailed because of PA's Kargil adventure. LK Advani was from Pakisan (before partition), so he has some soft corner for Pakistan.

I don't like LK advani at all . He provoked mass killings after the Babri Masjid incident.

Even BJP as such as not proven very effective in dealing with Terror , under their reign Parliament , Red fort and Akshardham were attacked , POTA was badly abused and many BJP led states suffered terror attacks. Also economically , they have yet to prove themselves.

He's 82 yrs. old and not many able potential cabinet members with him , aside from Arun Jaitley.

Given a straight choice between MMS and Advani - I would go for MMS but with some major changes in his cabinet , Rahul Gandhi must have more responsibility.
