The official emphasized that the Kuwaiti market is "extremely promising" for the development of military-technical cooperation, from the armored industry and high-precision weapons to large-scale aviation projects.

Within the framework of the visit, Gladkovsky met with General M. Al-Hedram, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Kuwait, during which the parties emphasized the importance of cooperation in the military-technical sphere and emphasized the need for its further activation.

In addition, during a meeting with Managing Director of the Kuwaiti Investment Administration Faruk Al-Bastaki, the issue of the possibility of attracting Kuwaiti investments into the Ukrainian economy was discussed.

Representatives of defense departments of Kuwait have been shown, in particular, the unmanned multifunctional armored personnel carrier "Phantom-2", the "Skif" PTRK with guided missiles and the light portable missile system "Corsair". A demonstration flight of the multi-purpose transport aircraft An-178 also took place.

I am curious about the business case for it. Only thing makes sense is Antonov needs money, and Kuwait got tons of it.

It is a transport plane, very practical for military as well as civilian transport..BTW KSA will eventually manufacture them too, So plants can be in both countries..

Kuwait is a 7000 SQ mile nation. You can travel faster using a Truck from one end to another. There is no need for more than a few transport planes. Building a factory seems like a way overkill to fill the need of Kuwaiti Air Force. Only case make sense is the money Kuwait can provide for brand spanking new factory and the idle production lines which seem to be the case these days.

Ukraine doesn't have lot of options here. Its relation with US limits its ability to seek financing or potential export destinations.

A JV to make a new AN-178 with new Western components with participation og Kuwait both technically and financially..obviously Ukraine will benefit more financially and Kuwait more in aerospace technology.. it is a Win/Win, and both countries will benefit from commercializing the plane..
