Kurulus Osman fans

If you don't worship Ataturk like some do....then you'll be open to debate about his intentions?

While I do agree with you that Mustafa Kemal did great things for modern day Turkey....he also quashed the spirituality of the Turks by enacting secular ideas.

Not only did he bring secularism into socio-politics of modern day Turkey, he also clamped down hard on Islam in Turkey. No hijabs, forceful banning of hijabs, doing the Adhan & the prayer in Turkish instead of Arabic, abolished the Khilafa, removed the role of the Grand Mufti and more...

You also have to realize what the above and unmentioned actions of Mustafa Kemal did to the future of the Anatolian Turks....I'm sure you have seen the rise in Pan-Turkism and the rise of paganism, animism and other older religions under the guise of Pan-Turkism.

And if you're open to having a historical review, watch the below 10 min video:

Hi,

Loud Azaan is not islamic---. No role of Khalifa in islam or even a mufti---.

Khalifa is not one of the five pillars of islam and neither is a Mufti---.

Each nation has to go thru its changes as did Turkey---.

We too have our Bhuttos and Sharif's and their families to deal as well as the Chaudhries and Gilanis---.

.
Look, I don't have a one-sided thought, I just gave him his place. I see Pakistani people as my brothers and I like you as a person actually, but I personally hate being stuck with the past and accusing other people with a bunch of nonsense that are known to be false. I hate trolls no matter where they are from or what is their ideology. If tomorrow I see another troll here that is doing defending the Secularism-Nationalism or another thing, I will give them their place too. It's normal that you think me of like that since I'm new here. I think you will know me better over time. I'm not against him having his own views, but the final straw was his personal accusitons and hate/insults of him against the father of my country and I know you'd have done the same things if you were me. I'm not just defending Ataturk here, If another troll comes here and tries to insult Erdogan, I will give him his place too. No one has the right to insult the significant figures of a nation. If he didn't had personal issues against Ataturk and didn't make fun of him, I would've let him have his own opinions. If someone was insulting the Jinnah, you guys would've done the same things too. @waz

None of the "significant historical figures" you wrote about were perfect.

If you have something to say about Jinnah, do so in a thread. I put forth my opinions on Mustafa Kemal. Simple as that....you "putting me in my place" has nothing to do with that.

The concern is not loud Adhan....you seemed to skip over what I wrote...

The problem is converting Islam (the spoken rituals) from Arabic to Turkish. Next thing you know, if our ancestors had followed Mustafa Kemal, we would have be saying the kamilas, the duas and the prayers in Urdu. I know people say duas in Urdu and that's fine but majority of major duas are still written and spoken in Arabic.

The main issue is the secularism and let me say, very harsh form of secularism, that Mustafa Kemal brought and it's after effects.

Hi,

Why are you targeting Kamal Ataturk---. This was simple discussion about turkish programs and you added your Ataturk agenda in it---. If it is a Turkish issue then let the Turks handle it---.

You showed a strange urge to take a religious turn into the issue---.

Why should we not have dua and prayers in urdu punjabi sindhi---. Is there an edict that says otherwise---.

If I have my way---there will be no Azaan with speakers on full blast---.

Well that is squarely the problem and inability of Pakistanis to bring forth a change...whatever change it might be.

I don't know why Pakistani leadership since inception didn't try to curb these families.

Well I'm not a religious scholar....so I'm not gonna go there.

You can ask your local Imams and what not and they'll give you the answer.

But here's a link to further your understanding: https://www.al-islam.org/articles/why-pray-arabic-ahmed-h-sheriff

Hi,

Why do I need to ask a local imam---there is no priesthood in islam---. Maybe in the Shia Islam---but not in Ahl A Hadees islam---.

I had no problems with his own personal views until that point (As you can see if you go back and read my replies). He had his own issues with Ataturk and didn't expressed his own views in a respectful behaviour. What if someone else does the same thing with Muhammad Ali Jinnah? Would that make it a problem? Nobody has the right to insult a significant person of a nation. If you guys let that happen, one day people would start insulting our Prophet Muhammad. @waz @The Eagle @Pan-Islamic-Pakistan

Anyone else whatces the series?
I am a big fan. Watched the entire Ertugrul series and today watched the episode 17 with unofficial Urdu translation.
The story has taken an interesting turn

I tried watching this but I couldn’t... I LOVED ERTUGURL but this one is in English and that seems a foreign language. I enjoyed watching Ertugurl in Turkish. I learned so many words.

That's the problem. He didn't do that in a respectful way. What if someone else do the same with Muhammad Ali Jinnah?

I am 63 years old. I remember a different Ataturk---. A man who gave identity and resource to a nation down and under---changed the old ways and brought new thinking and prctices to a people and nation that had gone astray---.

I remember my grand father and father and uncles talking about him and the changes that he brought about with pride---.

But then my grand fathers were an exception---one studied at AliGarh the other a Formen Christian college Lahore---. If I am 63 my grand fathers would have gone to those prestigious centers of education when there were very few educated muslims going to the colleges / university at that time---.

They were also very religious people and politically very active as well in their areas---and never ever I heard anything negative about Kemal Ataturk---. It was always praise for what the man did---.

And you a 23 years old pull out a religious vendetta against that glorious leader of Turkey---.

You sound like a religious fundo pakistani fanatic---.

You still living at home under daddy's roof---???

Thank you brother. It's not about Ataturk, It's about the manners and the rules of this forum. Did you guys saw any Turkish person that insulted your leaders and values? If the mods let these kind of things happen, one day people would start to insult our prophet. It doesn't matter if he's Pakistani or not, there are common manners...

Kurulus Osman is in english?
Anyway links will be appreciated.
I think it's on Netflix
