BBC News - Kurdish PKK co-founder Sakine Cansiz shot dead in Paris
Three Kurdish women activists - including a co-founder of the militant separatist PKK - have been found dead with gunshot wounds to the head in the Kurdish Institute of Paris.

The bodies of Sakine Cansiz and two others were found on Thursday.

French Interior Minister Manuel Valls called the killings "intolerable".

The motive for the shootings is unclear. Some 40,000 people have died in the 25-year conflict between the Turkish state and the PKK.

However, Turkey has recently begun talks with the jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan, with the aim of persuading the group to disarm.

Locked doors

The three women were last seen inside the information centre of the Kurdish institute on Wednesday afternoon. A member of the Kurdish community tried to visit the centre but found the doors were locked.

Their bodies were found in the early hours on Thursday. All three had been shot in the head, police said.

"The scene [of the crime] could give rise to the idea that this was an execution, but the investigation will have to establish the exact circumstances of this incident," a police source told French reporters.

Along with Sakine Cansiz, a second woman has been named as Fidan Dogan, 32, who worked in the information centre.

The third is reported to be a representative of the Brussels-based National Congress of Kurdistan.

French Interior Minister Manuel Valls visited the scene of the shootings. Members of the Kurdish community demonstrated outside the information centre as he arrived.

"These assassinations are intolerable, and I hope the inquiry will make rapid progress but let's allow the investigators to do their work," he told France-Info radio.

A representative of the Federation of Kurdish Assocations in France (Feyka), Leon Edart, told the French BFM news channel that there were no CCTV cameras in the office.

Mr Edart, who knew the women, said first indications were that the neighbours had heard nothing.

Good job Turkish intelligence.

This was expected..PKK(specificly Ocalan) took the initiative and started the negotiations with Turkey to completely disarm/disintegrate itself..a clear message from The puppeteers to show who the real boss is

Most probably these killings are related to ongoing negotiations between Turkey and PKK head Ocalan, two days back Turkish picket was attacked by PKK ( may be disgruntled group). Both Turks & Kurds must be ready to absorb these kind of incidents in between the talks. There are many subgroups inside the PKK and its affiliates and there are also some elements still exists in side Turkish Armed forces who consider themselves above the state.

Good job Turkish intelligence.

it was not good job for now...Turkey is striving to disarm PKK and try to compel it accepting legal politic strugle inside Turkey by negotiation with jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan. The negotiation may cause surprise positive events by PKK....

PKK totaly failed to archive its objectives through armed struggle in 2011-2012. So from many aspect Government gained initiatives againist PKK. If PKK insist on armed struggle it may suffer the the fate of TamilTiger.

This time most probably PKK leader will declare decision of disarming PKK.
But some malicious powers both inside and outside of Turkey try to sabotge disarming process.

I think those assasinations carried out by some foreign intelligent Services which have benefits from clashes between PKK and Turkish army..

a very important analysis in turkish:

Nevertheless, one must not fully exclude the Turkish Intelligence factor since this is the perfect time for making assassinations.

The question "Why would they do that on the brink of a solution?" is a nice shield.

IMO Everyone who doesn't want Turkey to achive peace with the kurdish seperatists. Because it was turk-kurd who kicked WW1 powers *** in the freedom war. even though most of the kurds who live in Turkey are part of the republic, the few who support PKK strive for other goals and they're the ones in bed with these foreign powers.

Turkey was reduced to 15% size when the ottomans surrendered, but Atatürk took back what is the current Turkey.

Who are these puppeteers being hinted at?

Powers which dont want stable Turkey..There are numerous countries which "support" PKK in one way or another both in the region and in the west..

These statements pretty much sum the situation up :

- "This is a political crime, there is no doubt about it," Remzi Kartal, a leader of the Kurdistan National Congress, an umbrella group of Kurdish organisations in Europe, told Reuters.
"Ocalan and the Turkish government have started a peace process, they want to engage in dialogue, but there are parties that are against resolving the Kurdish question and want to sabotage the peace process," he said.

-"Whenever in Turkey we reach the stage of saying 'friend, give up this business, let the weapons be silent', whenever a determination emerges on this, such incidents happen," AK Party Deputy Chairman Huseyin Celik told reporters in Ankara.
"Is there one PKK? I'm not sure of that," he said.

Çanakkale'de nerdeyse hiç kürt yoktu boş boş konuşma.

AKP is going even worse in people's minds now negotiations with terrorists. That's unacceptable.

You can't negotiate with terrorists and baby killers. All these do is waste countries resouces.

How about we deport every single BDP? Kick them out when they do a crime and they can live in North Iraq in their mountains, it's heaven for them.

Seni cok bilmis seni, sanki Çanakkale'den baska yerde savas yokmus gibi konusma.

I have zero tolerance for terrorists, and a solution has to be found peacefully. However my biggest concern is that the kurdish deputies and mayors who are elected in the eastern parts won't embrace all their citizens, but only the kurdish, thus resulting in alienating others who'll then have to move out.

I think what's needed is a mayor and vice mayor who represents majority and minority and a council who supports these people. And there needs to be an independant institution in the republic like the Ombudsman or maybe even a supreme court that people can go to if there is something they're dissatisfied with. just my opinion.

The republic must be embraced by whoever is elected as mayor/deputy and all who lives in the republic of Turkey.

you're right..there are hundreds thousand unknown shaheeds in Çanakkale Balkans, N.africa M.east and Heejaz fronts from Turks,Kurds Arabs many other ethnics...and more, Kurds are side that the most fought againis armenians gangs and invation of Russia. that is why hundreds thousands peope died in east. if Kurds werenot who would save the east of turkey from armenian while ottoman impire was not able deploy army to east.. at least read something about ''Hamidiye alaylari''

Yaptıkları isyanları, başkaldırmaları unuttun herhalde.

look at the history well again...are kurdish rebellions or Turkoman and Turkish rebellions more many and more bloody..and learn well again. after which periods and events kurdish rebellions tent to increase..
