  • General Bajwa vowed to extend support for Saudi army’s capacity-building measures
ISLAMABAD: Lt. Gen. Fahad Bin Abdullah Mohammad Al-Motair, Commander of the Royal Saudi Land Forces (RSLF) visited the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul in the garrison city of Abbottabad on Tuesday where he met with Saudi cadets undergoing a training program.
Lt. Gen. Al-Motair was accompanied by Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador in Pakistan during the visit, the Saudi Embassy tweeted on Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday, Lt. Gen. Al-Motair met with Pakistan’s Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi where the two discussed the regional security situation.
During the meeting, Gen. Bajwa expressed the Pakistan army’s resolute support toward the training and capacity-building of RSLF personnel, the military’s media wing, the ISPR, said in a statement released after the meeting.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have always maintained cordial relations. The diplomatic ties between the two countries improved further after Prime Minister Imran Khan assumed office last year and had since visited the Kingdom on several occasions.
Last year, several military cadets from Saudi Arabia completed their training from the prestigious institution in Pakistan.
Earlier this year, the armed forces of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan conducted a joint military exercise called Kaseh 2 in northwestern Pakistan. These drills were aimed at enhancing the efficiency of engineers in unconventional warfare in both countries.

Something big is going on between KSA and Pakistan
some people are suggesting that after IK's speech at UN, Pakistan Saudi relations are at all time low.. MBS didn't like Turkey, Malaysia and Pakistan leading a sort of Muslim bloc..

Back in my days at PNS Rahbar, we had Arab cadets from UAE, while we spent 3 terms before graduating to work on assignments they spent 4 terms in the academy (on second thoughts it was may be 5 terms 1 year for English), Navy guys please freshen my memory please.

First term was "trying" to teach them English. They had two frequent complaints about the academy
1) Food quality according to them was poor (horrible to be exact)
2) Academy environment was harsh/in-human for officer to be, according to them seniors/drill instructors/teachers and (us) the fellow cadets were all against them conspiring to suppress their rightful place and not acknowledging their intellect. They were cursed to have been banished to this hell hole where there was no air conditioner, compared to Saudi Academy where even front line bunkers are air conditioned.

Many a time you would find them crying after a punishment or double around the parade ground or Gorkha position assumption.

Their whole lives revolved around women (no comments there), food (olive, fish, dates, etc) and luxuries (name it), our room mate already had two wives and used to cry for his family.

Tell you the truth food in the officers academy is above normal, spices are reasonable to low, as for academy environment being harsh is concerned, later in the life we realized that the purpose of the academy to prepare officers who will lead men in harsh environments the sea, the subs, etc you cant have officers who would be hiding/running away from harsh environment and postings. Our visiting friends from PMA also told the same nature of stories.

Now on to the topic of the thread, something is going on between Pak Army and Saudis but what they want is not going to happen, 5-6 thousand soldiers is alright, retired NCO/JCO/Officers is one thing but fighting their war is not going to happen. We are definitely not going for a TOT on nuclear tech.

arabs themselves came from more harsher climates and areas then pakistan
the thing is they say why not if u can.
and those who will be officers hail from high families so it does have different situations.
and honestly the world now revolves around work smart not hard concept but its opposite here.not everything is physical harshness mostly its mental health after advances in technologies so i say time of toughness is long gone.
