I think the place was destined to become another DMZ like in North Korea. The Russians will not remove the troops it has approx 175k on the border and Ukraine has half of it's army deployed in Donbass now around 125k. Sort of like a frozen conflict and this could be the case for 2 or 3 decades atleast before it ignites. Ukraine is growing militarily now and this could lead to a clash down the line come sometime in the 40s or 50s Ukraine will be extremely confident at that point because they will have 30 years to exclusive prepare for their survival so it will be a well prepared Ukraine
Ukraine has been severely underrated here by many layman hope this serves them good lesson.. Last time Lavrov said 2 days ago they will take actions when the military experts give their opinion and I knew what their opinion was gonna be..
NATO has deterred zero they have technically done the opposed and imo from now on Ukraine will have a bigger say in European affairs including EU and NATO... Ukraine came out looking good in all of this if you ask me.. Ukraine has technically deterred Russia
lol.. We have had deterence against the gangus for the last 74 years and if anything they are the once who need deterence against us now..
But that being said I was neutral from beginning to end but I don't think Russia will accept this government bordering them regardless will find ways to liberate that area may not be today but at a later date they won't let this one slide

I’ve been rooting for Ukraine’s ability to deter Russia. In part, because there are many lessons for Pakistan to deter India. But we have to admit NATO’s backing helped Ukraine.
Ukraine is strategically located. Without a friendly Ukraine, Russia loses its access to Europe AND loses a vital buffer state to the EU and NATO. There is also the issue of Russia's black sea fleet, which is why Russia took Crimea, but it's still not enough, because Turkey can still make things difficult for Russia with Ukraine's help, and that's exactly what Turkey is doing. What is Russia’s problem with Ukraine?
